Prime Minister Tony Abbott has celebrated his first 100 days of government with a trip to the Great Ocean Road where he reannounced an election promise.

During the 2013 election, the Coalition promised $25 million over five years to upgrade the Great Ocean Road, with the Victorian state government pledging to match the amount.
On Monday, Mr Abbott announced that Anglesea will be one of the first places along the Great Ocean Road to be upgraded. Nearly $2 million will be spent next year after this year's summer rush next year.
The Great Ocean Road announcement comes as Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss announced about $1 billion in roads projects in New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
In a doorstop in Angelsea, while clutching a copy of his government's 100-day brochure, Mr Abbott sheeted home responsibility for the upcoming mid-year budget update to Labor.
The government has been preparing the public for bigger than expected deficits before the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook on Tuesday.
''What is going to happen tomorrow is that we will be ruling a line under the fiscal damage that Labor has done,'' he told reporters.
The roads spending was initially announced by the previous Labor government and were meant to be funded by the under-performing mining tax.
The Coalition argues the projects were ''left unfunded'' by Labor.
''Since forming government the Coalition has been focused on cleaning up Labor's mess,'' Mr Truss said.
''Despite the former Regional Investment Fund being bankrupt due to Labor's dud mining tax, the Coalition will now pick up the pieces and work with the state government to deliver these important projects.''
Labor's infrastructure spokesman Anthony Albanese described the funding announcement on Monday as a ''backflip''.
''Funding for the $1 billion worth of road and other infrastructure investment, flagged by the government in media reports today, is not new,'' he said in a statement.
''All of the projects . . . were announced by the previous Labor Government. All were fully funded in the 2013-14 budget and announced on budget day or in subsequent weeks.''
Mr Albanese said that Mr Abbott had claimed there was no money for the projects when he took office.
''Today's backflip – an admission that funds were available – follows weeks of Labor pressure in parliament,'' he said.
