Will the public come to Tony Abbott's party?

Tony Abbott received an reprieve from his party on Monday, and now, for the moment at least, is reborn, with the air cleared and tremendous displays of party unity. But he has a separate problem before a less liberal and lenient audience in the electorate. As dawn broke on Monday, indeed, his Liberal colleagues had only to pick up the papers to confirm that Abbott, and the party generally, were continuing to fall in its less forgiving estimate.
