Jiving with Clive

Palmer's pickled Peta patter. With Rocco Fazzari and Denis Carnahan and apologies to the Bee Gees.

This week's political musical parody takes us into the world of Clive Palmer.

While sometimes we wonder what Clive will say and what it will mean, his ability to grab the headlines never misses a beat.

With Prime Minister Tony Abbott on a world tour, the opportunity is there for Clive to provide the media with quotable quotes and outrage.

Deploying the musical talents of Denis Carnahan, our musical animation presents "Clive talking" (with apologies to the Bee Gees).

  • Clive has manipulated Media like having a masters degree at it, even with the press knowing he will say something controversial he likes the free press, so really Clive comes out in front. Let me elaborate more internally, even the Peta issue, his words were blown out wrongly by the press, so he seized on it, so the political correct will agree on the media side, but all others were more drawn to him, this was observed in social media and via general public chats and forums. So actually equated to a lift for Clive. But the media campaign to hamper Clive was over-shadowed by the media bias of being in bed with Tony, and again the pressure Malcolm theme like last leadership tilt he was put under same pressure. I would say the biggest loser was the one the media adopted as pet buddy, as Tony is not liked much for being seen to be in bed with media elements mainly Murdoch press. Am sure the herald sun has taken a huge sales dive regardless of antics. Clive has got some free valuable press so he is happy enough, and Mal is under huge pressure to do as majority public say in polls or side with Tony and ignore the public.

    • @ Brian...strange, we must mix in different circles, people I speak to view Palmer as a Deceitful Buffoon who will say and do anything as he well knows that he will never be in a position to fulfill any promises he makes.

    • Clive Palmer worked with the master of media manipulation Joh Bjelke Peterson.

Notice the similar "feeding the chooks" routine to Joh and "the chooks" are still suckered in .

Wonder if they will change when Clive turns his 'buffoonery' on the ALP?

  • Clivasaurus Rex, like Sir Wally, seldom wind up where they want to go but almost always where they need to go.

      • Cool guys, love the outfits - although Peta prefers Leopard print.
Meanwhile over 500 comments over at the 'great diversion' article. Tones and Peta will be thinking mission accomplished.

        • Why the outrage? Peta Does appear to guide the PM's judgement. Everyone in Canberra knows Tony does not make a move without consulting (or being told) by Peta. She handles a lot of his duties in the office, so we should question who this woman is as she has not been elected.
The LIBS accused Labor of 'faceless men', I guess Peta qualifies as the 'faceless woman' whose face is increasingly present in the cabinet.

          • Woman- "Everyone in Canberra knows Tony does not make a move without consulting (or being told) by Peta". A sweeping statement-where is your proof. Politically motivated generalities are not proof. Did you, for example, know how much influence the Scotsman John McTernan had on the decisions that Julia Gillard made for the Nation?

        • It is not Clive's fault that he grabs media attention it is the medias fault because they publish trivia and matters that interest then in a party political way.
