Holy ghost of Brynne! Or a bizarre case of Brynnkmanship?
Disgraced medico and millionaire Melburnian Geoffrey Edelsten predictably made an attention seeking entrance at the funeral of AFL great Tom Hafey at the MCG on Monday, escorting a buxom blonde as his date who bore more than a passing resemblance to his estranged spouse Brynne Edelsten.
Fairfax Media can now reveal the blonde is 24-year-old New York fashion model Gabi Grecko.

Earlier media reports named the striking blonde as Bree, an American model who also looks eerily similar to Edlesten’s former wife.
Ms Grecko arrived in Melbourne 10 days ago, according to a spokesman for Dr Edelsten, and made quite the entrance to Monday’s funeral on the arm of the former Sydney Swans owner.
Ironically, the spokesman said Dr Edelsten had not previously disclosed the "friendship" as Ms Grecko was "shy" and did not want to attract "too much publicity".
Ms Grecko wore a lace corset worn over a tight and revealing $5,000 Herve Leger dress, with long black leather gloves and ostentatious cocktail jewellery, and carried a budget boosting red Hermes Birkin bag, which retails up to $40,000.
Initially, confusion reigned over the blonde’s identity with reports Edelsten's date to the funeral was a woman named Bree.
The 70-year-old was first spotted with the Brynne lookalike at his luxury Beverly Hills hotel on several occasions last month – the very same hotel where he first met his estranged spouse, Brynne.
Weekly Australian magazine New Idea reported at the time Edelsten was seen waiting in the lobby of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, made famous in the film Pretty Woman, before Bree joined him for dinner in Wolfgang Puck’s CUT restaurant.
It was reported Edelsten’s lawyers issued a statement to New Idea confirming the mystery blonde’s name, her profession - a full-time model - and stated explicitly she was not a prostitute.
The spokesman confirmed Edelsten and Bree were still "friends".
Geoffrey and Brynne split in January after four years of marriage, with Brynne only recently moving out of the multi-million dollar apartment they shared in the Melbourne CBD, the palatial and over-the-top interior exposed to the public in the reality television series Brynne: My Bedazzled Life.
In March it was reported Brynne was involved romantically with nightclub promoter Alex Roberts, but the pair have since separated.
Edelsten and Ms Grecko were attending the funeral for AFL great Tom Hafey at the MCG in Melbourne and quickly became the centre of attention as they walked past the waiting media pack.
Edelsten appeared to have dyed his thinning locks in orange and black tiger stripes, a tribute to Hafey’s Richmond coaching glory days.
It is not the first time Edelsten and his date have turned their entrance to an event into a media circus.
Brynne Edelsten burst – almost literally – onto the Australian social scene in a risque Brownlow dress in 2009, upstaging footballers with a plunging neckline and sparkling bra from a boutique in Vegas.
The couple continued to make headlines with a multi-million dollar lavish and very public wedding, with celebrity guests flown in from across the world, including , bizarrely, the American actress, The Nanny's Fran Drescher.
Brynne later admitted she didn’t know "even a quarter of the guests" present.
