"Patients who present to the Canberra Hospital Emergency Department who do not require urgent treatment should expect delays," Canberra Hospital and Health Services Deputy Director‐General Ian Thompson said.
"Work is currently under way to resolve these issues, but it is not clear when the work will be complete.
"People with less urgent conditions should consider other treatment options, such as General Practitioners, the Walk in Centre, or Calvary Hospital Emergency Department until the issues are resolved," Mr Thompson said.
Urgent patients are still being seen, with the department reverting to paper systems while IT experts fix the problem.
The hospital said people seeking advice on non life‐threatening injuries could also consult their local pharmacist, healthdirect on 1800 022 222 or Canberra Afterhours Locum Medical Service on 1300 422 567
