A 24-year-old Mandurah man was stabbed at a taxi rank in Fremantle in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A 24-year-old Mandurah man was stabbed after a fight broke out at a taxi rank in Fremantle in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said a fight had escalated between several people on Henderson Street when the stabbing took place at 4.20am.

The altercation resulted in the man being taken to Fremantle Hospital for treatment for a minor stab wound, police media spokeswoman Susan Usher said.

She said a 26-year-old Yangebup man was assisting police with their inquiries.
