This week's mashup:The weird weird world of Clive Palmer

 This week’s mashup
How weird can it get?
Very weird, it seems, when it involves Clive Palmer.
Before viewing this week's espresso video animation, consider Clive’s big-picture announcements, how art imitates life and how politics could be the wackiest game in town, with or without him - as the past week has shown.
Frighteningly, there is more to come as the political landscape becomes increasingly surreal.
Trying to outmanoeuvre Professor Clive in the strange, weird and wonderful stakes is a tough ask. It means an extra step to the left or the right - whatever your leanings will allow.
No need to warp reality. Clive has done it for us already.

  • Given that Clive, in recent weeks, has announced a breakaway Soccer Federation, the building of Titanic II, and will stand for the Australian Parliament to depose the Treasurer, it's becoming bleeding obvious that he is following in the Queensland tradition, made famous by that old rascal Joh, of "Feeding the Chooks."

    • Of all of those announcements the only one that made top (or any) billing on the BBC World Service was the Titanic ][. I guess it took him a few goes to get noticed on the worldwide stage...

It's like they are all going troppo up in Queensland. Fun to watch though. We need a few laughs what with all the poison that exists in the current political climate.

  • Another persistent pest, self-confessed tax dodger, the Liberal Party's paid up member, billionaire mining magnate; Clive Palmer is dictating to and is a litigant to Gillard government's public policies like, the Carbon and MRR taxes. His announcement of standing against Wayne Swan at the next election will add much needed buffoonery in the parliament that has surfeit of eccentrics. Wayne Swan is a silent achiever with no fanfare.

    • Just to clarify one misconception, Palmer is/was a Gold Coast Real Estate Screw who today controls the rights to the land tenements on which Fair Dinkum Miners operate.

Palmer's alleged revenue from mining consists solely of royalties, further, with the exception of the gullible, he's never produced a mining product in his life.

    • Geronimo, Thanks for the clarification. I have always thought Palmer spoke much differently to the other miners.......and if as you say the true vocation of Clive is that of a real estate agent the adage about second hand car salesman and real estate agents rings forever true.

  • Rocco, that was a cryptic animation for us today.

So Slipper sinks Gillard, and Slipper was a Nats plant.

And Abbott in his ancient flying bag of wind sinks Rudd?

Does this mean there is more to both stories than meets the eye? And it is not politics but espionage at its worst.

Involving Palmer in this animation is the puzzle. Does that mean Palmer is the person funding the Ashby claim and also planning the double dealing and dirty tricks?
