WA woman ran down caravan park owner

Date

A Perth woman has been found guilty of killing a caravan park manager by running her over with a car.

A jury deliberated for about five hours before convicting Katie Walkerley, 46, on Thursday of the manslaughter of Rita Maria Addenbrooke, 59, in February 2013.

The WA Supreme Court trial was told Walkerley had attended a dinner party at the Kingsway Tourist Park in Madeley, in Perth's north, when she argued with someone.

Prosecutors alleged an angry Walkerley got into her car and turned the music up loud.

She then began to drive away and did not stop when Ms Addenbrooke - who had left her residence after hearing what she thought was a domestic disturbance - stepped in front of the vehicle.

Walkerley, who was not speeding, then drove over a speed hump and through a boom gate, damaging the car, the court heard.

Ms Addenbrooke, who suffered from multiple sclerosis and needed a walking stick, died in hospital two days later from her head injuries.

Walkerley was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on October 1.
