Miranda Kerr has begun a new chapter in her life by cutting off her hair.

In a new video for Harper's Bazaar titled "Miranda Kerr Gets Her Shortest Haircut Ever" the model is shown having her split ends trimmed taking her mid-length locks into a shorter, Lara Worthington inspired bob.

In what is undoubtedly the biggest statement she's made since taking off her Victoria's Secret Angel wings, publishing a photo of her breast feeding and retiring as the face of David Jones, Kerr has now also called time on curly hair.

"Gone are the days of curls and ringlets," she purred. "Here comes the sexy tousled hair."

In a performance reminiscent of Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors, Kerr showcased a gamut of emotions during the short film. Terror, surprise and contentment with a cup of tea.

"Is it too short? Where did my hair go? Look at all my hair on the ground. Whoa. That's a really long chunk. Where did that come from?" she said to her stylist David Keogh, an Australian hairdresser who has been cutting Kerr's locks since she was 15.

In a corresponding interview the model, entrepreneur and life coach also got candid about her beauty habits including her need to have perfect nails and why she shouldn't be left alone with a pair of tweezers.

"I love to tweeze my eyebrows and I'm a little bit OCD with my nails being perfect," she said.

As well as plugging her organic skin care line, the partner of 25-year-old Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel also opened about her love of attacking other people's acne.

"...if I get a pimple, or if I see a pimple on anyone else, I love to get it. Obviously I do it properly with a tissue and what not, but I really like to squeeze, especially if it's friends or family."

She also confirmed what many fans have been desperate to know since the dawn of social media (and time).

"I used to be obsessed with Sierra, but now I'm obsessed with Valencia because the border looks like a polaroid," she said when asked to name her favourite Instagram filter.

Reaction to her shorter 'do was mainly positive, with some people now requesting Harper's Bazaar to film their next hair cut and others debating the merits of posing with hair covering just one eye.

"It's a nice cut, but I've never understood or been a fan of the hair over the one eye thing. It's not sexy and must just be a girl thing, like 'duck lips'. At least you're not duck lipping. You are absolutely beautiful though," one fan said.
