Brad Pitt attacked by reporter, Vitalii Sediuk, at Maleficent premiere

Brad Pitt has been attacked on the red carpet at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood at the premiere of the film Maleficent, which stars his partner Angela Jolie.

Ukrainian television reporter Vitalii Sediuk, a serial pest, jumped over a barricade and allegedly struck Pitt on the face.

A spokesperson told Britain's Daily Mail: "He leapt over the barrier and made contact with Brad Pitt."

Several security officers “wrestled [Sediuk] to the ground”.

Stepping aside, Pitt stood and watched as Sediuk was handcuffed.

Images show the journalist almost lost his trousers in the scuffle.

Missing all the commotion, Jolie was in another section greeting fans.

Uninjured, Pitt did not appear to be upset and continued walking the red carpet.

Sediuk, 25, has made a name for himself by playing pranks on celebrities at red-carpet events.

He was caught trying to put his head up America Ferrera’s skirt at the premiere of How to Train Your Dragon 2 in Cannes last week.

In January, the journalist hugged actor Bradley Cooper from the waist down, placing his face in Cooper’s crotch.

Sediuk’s next appearance involved actor Leonardo DiCaprio at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, in February.

He went for DiCaprio’s crotch as well.

At the 2013 Grammys, Sediuk was arrested for going on stage as Adele was about to receive her award.

Pretending the award was for him, he thanked Adele for being her inspiration.

In 2012, he tried to kiss actor Will Smith on the lips at the Russian premiere of Men in Black 3.

Narrowly missing his lips, Smith copped a wet one on each cheek. He pushed Sediuk away and slapped him in the face.

Footage of the encounter showed Smith asking, “what the hell” his problem was.

TMZ has reported that Sediuk is being detained by the LAPD and will be booked for misdemeanour battery.
