Celeb highlights on social media

Most celebrities these days use some form of social media to keep in touch with their fans, whether it's Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Here is a look at some of the more interesting posts and selfies by celebrities in the last week.

Courtney Love 'finds' missing plane

Self-proclaimed "no expert" Courtney Love took to Twitter and Facebook on Monday to share the news that she "found" missing Malaysia Airways flight MH370.

The singer posted a screen-grabbed image of the ocean from a crowd source satellite imaging website Tomnod. Love used a Microsoft Paint-like tool to point out areas which to her looked like an oil slick and a potential plane.

Tomnod have ruled out Love's discovery as the plane but the singer says she's sure the plane is somewhere, telling the Daily Intelligencer, “I really doubt aliens took it.”

More seriously though, kudos to Love for wanting to help. She told New York Magazine that she wanted to do her bit to help find the plane.

“I hope they find the plane, I pray they're still alive, it's sad and my heart goes out to all those involved,” Love told the magazine.

Miley Cyrus Bangerz bus up in smoke

One of Miley Cyrus's tour buses caught fire on Tuesday, on the way to her next tour stop in New Orleans.

So, as any normal person would, Miley's younger sister posted footage of the whole incident on Instagram, captioned “Tour bus down!”

Noah Cyrus posted two videos of the Bangerz tour bus burning up, and a photograph of the burnt-out vehicle.

Noah had been travelling in the bus with her mother, and TMZ report that the fire was caused by an exploding tyre.

Noah also took to Twitter to reassure fans that no one was injured in the accident: “Yes, everyone got out safe no one was injured what so ever!! everything is okay!!”

Questionable priorities aside – social media would probably be the least of your worries in that sort of incident – we're glad everyone is all right.

Miley Cyrus gets a new tattoo?

Still in the wonderful world of Miley Cyrus, the singer got the rumour mills churning when she posted photographs of a lip tattoo on Friday.

The ink is in the form of a crying cat on the inside of her lip, and dozens of articles were written speculating about whether the tattoo is a real or fake.

Luckily, Cyrus took to Twitter this time to post a photo of the fading tattoo, confirming that the tattoo was only temporary. Phew.

Justin Bieber works hard

Justin Bieber has been working really hard, OK? He's mostly busy posting photos of himself working in the studio. Hard to know how he finds the time for that around court appearances.

He's been working so hard, apparently, that he spent 24 hours in the studio on Tuesday. One poor fan waited outside the entire time just to meet him, only to have her phone die - because what modern phone has the battery power to last more than 24 hours?

So Bieber did the nice thing, and took a selfie with the “beautiful fan” who had waited so patiently to meet the singer.

Unfortunately for the fan a whole lot of fake Instagram accounts were set up by people claiming to be her, but it does make for funny comment reading.

Madonna's work is never done

Madonna works really hard as well, if her Instagram account is to be believed. The star posted photos of herself dressed to the nines, doing the “housework”.

There is the potential that the pop queen was trying to be funny. With her money, it's doubtful that she actually does her own chores. If she does, and she was being serious, it will take her a long time to lick her entire house clean.
