Paris Hilton's younger brother Conrad ordered into drug rehab

It used to be Paris Hilton that made headlines for getting on the wrong side of the law, but it seems the 34-year-old reality TV star-turned DJ has now passed the bar onto her younger brother.

Hotel heir Conrad Hilton III has been ordered into substance abuse treatment after failing drug tests and violating his probation.

City News Service says a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday ordered Hilton into a residential treatment program for at least 90 days. The judge rejected a request by authorities to put Hilton behind bars for 60 days.

The 21-year-old was sentenced to probation and community service last year after pleading guilty to disrupting a British Airways flight.

Authorities say he violated probation by trespassing, failing drug tests, failing to complete three treatment programs and travelling out of California without permission from his probation officer.

In May 2007, The Simple Life star was sentenced to 45 days behind bars for driving with a suspended license. She left after three days citing unspecified health reasons. But a judge ordered her to return to jail where she spent most of her time in the hospital wing.

The party living former IT girl was released from jail on June 26, 2007, serving a total of 22 days in detention.

In an interview from jail, she said she was profoundly changed by incarceration.

"I'm so much more grateful for everything that I have, even just to have a pillow at night or food," she told E! News's Ryan Seacrest at the time.
