Amid promoting her latest project, Campbell, 25, married her footballer fiancé Lance "Buddy' Franklin, 29, in a private ceremony on Friday. The news was shared via social media in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The couple had been dating for more than two years before Franklin relocated from Melbourne to Sydney and announced their engagement on Instagram back in December 2014. They made their social debut at the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne in 2013.

Live a Beautiful Life was launched last week with an intimate Q&A with the model turned author over matcha energy balls (the same balls she goes "to bed dreaming of"). While official sales figures won't be released until next month, it shot quickly to the bestselling reads on Booktopia and iBooks.

It is a rags-to-riches tale for the ages. In the 243-page tome she chronicles how she started from the bottom – a nerdy yet fit teenager from a healthy home from the Gold Coast – and is now on top of the world after realising her dream of becoming a David Jones ambassador.

The feat is not to be sneezed at given she arrived in the Emerald City in 2009 with just $700 in her pocket. Surviving on three hours of sleep, she lived alone and off "a packet of apples and a few tins of tuna".

At first glance the literary work, peppered with photos of Campbell nursing cups of green juice, giggling over a watermelon and wearing novelty reading glasses, resembles her beloved department store on Boxing Day – busy. Broken into four parts, Campbell showcases how to live beautifully via her beauty tips, exercise programs, vision statement templates and recipes.

1. By not owning a Toyota Yaris and not renting a studio apartment in Sydney

"I drove home that night, in my ball gown in my little Toyota Yaris, which I was paying off week by week. Mum and I ate leftovers for dinner in my cramped studio apartment where I could almost stir a pot on the stove while I was having a shower. There was only one bed so Mum and I crashed together ... " she writes of the night she was crowned Miss Universe Australia in 2010. She has since gone on to drive Jeeps and Jaguars (for free) and now lives in Sydney's leafy (and beautiful) eastern suburbs.

2. Spend all of your free time with a dermatologist/beautician

"Once a month I have a big clean, which is quite clinical and very specific to the needs of my skin. Then once a fortnight I have a facial that cleans my skin but is also a relaxing experience where I get a bit of a massage, the room is filled with candles and it completely relaxes my mind and body."

3. Be Buddy Franklin

Judging from her recipes, Campbell is Maggie Beer 2.0. Her homemade meals, like "alkalising green soup", "quinoa and tahini sushi" and "warming ginger nut milk", not his $10 million salary, make Franklin the luckiest man this side of Pete Evans' pantry.
