She is renowned as one of Australia's best known child stars, but now Kate Ritchie has become a mother herself after giving birth to a baby girl.
Ritchie made the announcement on Facebook on Monday afternoon, after giving birth to a daughter in Sydney on Sunday.
"We welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world last night. She is doing very well, as is Mum. We happen to think she is perfect and we couldn't be more delighted."
The 36-year-old former Home and Away star and her husband, former NRL player Stuart Webb, were married in Tasmania in 2010.
The pair have not yet revealed the name of their baby girl. But Ritchie did take to Instagram last month, asking her followers' opinions on a list of both boys' and girls' names.
Ritchie told WHO in April this year she felt blessed after becoming pregnant.
“The gift of being able to carry a child is beautiful,” she said. “It’s happened exactly when it was meant to happen. Becoming a mother will be a wonderful bonus to who I already am ... I just feel blessed.”
After making her debut at the age of 8, Ritchie spent 20 years playing the role of Sally Fletcher in Home and Away, leaving in 2007 and winning the Gold Logie for most popular personality in both 2007 and 2008. She now co-hosts the NOVA drivetime radio show Kate, Tim and Marty with Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold.
