Mila Kunis has finally confirmed the world's worst-kept secret – she's having a baby.
Kunis appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday and spoke of how she and Ashton Kutcher had managed to keep their pregnancy a secret.
"We actually were able to hide it for a very long time, which is amazing," the actress said.
But the star of Jupiter Ascending was keeping mum on her due date, despite questions from DeGeneres.
"Sometime this year, I promise you. It will be this year," Kunis, 30, told DeGeneres.
After more probing the actress admitted the couple had picked out a name, but she said they wouldn't be revealing the sex.
The mother-to-be was more open about the weird food cravings in her pregnancy.
"I'm very stereotypical," she said. "I eat sauerkraut all day long. This is the worst craving to have because sauerkraut smells and every time we open up the jar it just reeks in the whole kitchen. It's not like ice cream where everything smells lovely and floral."
Luckily for Kunis, DeGeneres had some pickles and sauerkraut on hand.
The actress ate some on set and said she had tried pretty much every brand of sauerkraut available.
"Vinegar-based food, I guess, is what I'm craving," Kunis said.
DeGeneres asked if Kutcher had been willing to get up in the middle of the night to fetch her sauerkraut or pickles.
The actress said he certainly had, and in fact had gone a step further. "He kind of pre-empted this," Kunis said. "He assumed I was going to have goofy cravings, so he stocked our secondary fridge with weird food."
Apparently the Two and a Half Men star bought sauerkraut, pickles, anchovies and ice cream, just in case Kunis craved them.
"And it happened just last week," Kunis said. "I was like, oh my god, I need a pickle. It was just the weirdest thing, and he was just like, 'hold on a second', and disappeared into the backyard and came back with the most amazing dill pickle of all time."
It's not the only sweet thing Kutcher, 36, has been doing for his wife-to-be.
Kunis, who speaks Russian, said Kutcher has been taking Russian lessons twice a week for six months so the pair can speak to their baby in Russian and English.
Kunis also revealed that she wants to have an all-natural birth, unless something goes wrong. She doesn't even want an epidural.
"I know – I'm crazy," she said. "I did this to myself, I might as well do it right . . . I wanted this! No one made me do this."
When DeGeneres congratulated Kunis on her engagement, the actress revealed she was surprised it had gone unreported for so long.
"We were able to keep this private for two months," Kunis told the talk show host.
"I think everybody assumed we'd been engaged for so long that I was wearing the ring in public for two months and nobody commented on it in a single photograph."
