She's one of Australia's most popular actresses, starring in long-running soap Neighbours as Paige Smith, but Olympia Valance has been scouted by the very same Hollywood agents that look after A-list brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth, and she's not ruling out a move to Tinseltown.
The younger half-sister of Holly Candy (nee Valance) opened up to Fairfax Media on Saturday at the Jeep Portsea Polo where she was acting as the Jeep Marque ambassador alongside Anna Bamford. The 23-year-old stole the show from her blonde counterpart in a floral, layered Gucci dress and Tony Bianco heels – a chic look put together by celebrity stylist, Mikey Ayoubi.
Valance signed with California-based agency ROAR "around eight or nine months ago" when they came looking for her.
"I am very, very, very, very lucky, because people go over there and work their asses off to find an agent, but these guys came to me. I was very lucky,' the bubbly star said.
"We work closely already and they know that I am on a TV show here, but they just want to keep the relationship going until we can do other things."
The brunette beauty repeated over and over how much she loves working on Ramsey St, but said she's only human to think about what her future could hold, like those who also started out on Neighbours, including the Hemsworth brothers, Margot Robbie and Russell Crowe, to name but a few.
"I am very happy with Neighbours, I couldn't have asked for a better job, I am so lucky to be there and I have said to the producers, 'Do not kill me off,' because if I ever decide to have a little break away from Neighbours, I want the opportunity to come back," she said.
"As an actor, I definitely want to aspire to new things, but then again I don't want to take from my job that I love. I am doing TV and I love soaps, but it would be nice to try something different, I would love to do a movie.
"LA might be down the line," she added.
By Valance's side in the Jeep Marquee in the scenic Mornington Peninsula was her beau, Greg Cannell, an assistant store manager at the H&M GPO store in Melbourne.
"He's my photographer and my handbag," she laughed, before adding: "We have so much fun together."
The handsome pair have been dating for over a year or as Valance puts it, "since the Melbourne Cup last year."
They live in the suburb of Elsternwick, just outside the city, in a house she bought right beside her mother's: "I bought the house next to the one that I grew up in and we sort of just did the house up and made it our little sanctuary."
She explained the last time her sister Holly saw her place was last Christmas, but the actress says the home "was not nearly what it is today," so she is looking forward to her coming back Down Under "in a few months for a few weeks" to show her the improvements she has made.
Valance loves to spend time in London with her sister, her billionaire husband Nick Candy, and their daughter Luca, two.
"I go over to the UK more than she comes here because I go there for work with Gossard [lingerie], so I get the opportunity to go over there all of the time. It's so nice to see my little niece, because I am a first-time auntie. We have so much fun and we go for dinners and we just have family time. We haven't always got to do that because she has always lived overseas."
She continued: Luca is divine. She is just so intelligent and just so beautiful and so kind and it breaks my heart to leave them when I come to Australia."
But for the actress starting a family of her own could not be further from her mind: "Not for a while. I want to be a mother more than anything, but I have too much of my life to go before that."
