A routine check up last month - something the 37-year-old mother of two was dreading - found another lump in her breast. The news came as a shock as she takes Tamoxifen, a breast cancer prevention drug, daily.

"I really should have had a check up, ultrasound, mammogram and MRI earlier but I decided to make my own rules and get to it when I 'had time'. It was not a smart move," she told Fairfax Media.

Jacenko said she was preparing for more bad news before her doctor declared the growth benign, three days after a biopsy.

"Once the ultrasound operator called in the doctor for a look at what she had discovered I was a little like: 'I've been here before, I know exactly where this is going. Hold it together, everything is fixable, I've done it once and I can do it again'," she said.

"When I went to collect [the results], I had it clear in my mind: 'You have it, everything has gone so wrong, this just fits with the mess'. I was almost shocked when the breast surgeon said: 'You are all good Roxy, its not cancerous'."

The aspiring influencer underwent a six week radiation program and a partial removal surgery, documented by 60 Minutes, last August.

She was diagnosed two months after her husband, Oliver Curtis, was jailed for 12-months for insider trading.

Due to her young age, Jacenko will now undergo twice yearly scans as recurrence is highly likely during the first five years of an initial diagnosis.

She is now committed to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support groups via her latest turn as a celebrity in her own right.

Despite appearing on The Apprentice and being a regular on the Sydney social scene for more than a decade, Jacenko has become a social media star in 2017 with her Instagram following growing by more than 50,000.

"There isn't a day when I don't get a direct message on Instagram from other women facing all sorts of issues in their day to day life asking for advice on how to plough through it," she said.

Thanks to a surge in her personal popularity she has since been signed as an ambassador for natural cleaning company, Enjo, and Toni & Guy hairdressers in Australia. Both companies are also clients of her Sweaty Betty PR firm.

Later this month she will host a high tea at Westfield Parramatta and make a donation to Connie Johnson's organisation, Love Your Sister.

Jacenko has previously donated her appearance fees for her 60 Minutes and Woman's Day interviews to a number of breast, ovarian and rare cancer charities.
