The 33-year-old sister of the Duchess of Cambridge arrived in the Northern Territory with her husband, James Matthews, after jetting out of Sydney on Thursday.
The newlyweds follow in the footsteps of Prince William and Catherine, who visited Uluru during their first official Australian tour in April 2014.
Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, also climbed Uluru in 1983 during their tour of Central Australia. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have visited the Top End many times during the Monarch's 65-year reign.
The Territory is a suitable choice for the thrill-seeking couple, with Kakadu, Uluru and crocodiles all now on their doorstep.
Before they rekindled their on-again, off-again relationship in 2016, Middleton and Matthews completed the Otillo Swimrun World Championship together in Sweden in 2015. They finished the 60-kilometre trial run and 10-kilometre open water swim in the Baltic Sea in about 13 hours.
Middleton and Matthews also took part in the Bosphorus Cross Continental Swimming Race in Turkey, in the gulf between Asia and Europe, which is known as one of the most difficult swims in the world.
On Wednesday, instead of Netflix and chilling on a cold and rainy evening in Sydney, they suited up and climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge after dark before retiring to their palatial, $19,000-a-night suite at the Park Hyatt Hotel.
There is speculation the newlyweds may visit the NT's premier tourist destination, Nitmiluk Gorge.
However when asked if a booking had been taken for the couple, a spokesperson told Fairfax Media: "Not to my knowledge."
While Middleton and Matthews are outdoorsy types, they are generally seen dominating the ski slopes of Europe.
Last year, Middleton took part in the Inferno Cross Country race through Switzerland before Matthews joined her in Norway for the 54-kilometre cross-country Birkebeiner ski race.
Prior to that she cycled across the United States with her brother James, was the seventh female finisher in her first marathon in Kenya.
