The 24-year-old, who split with Harry in April, has been cast in Harvey Weinstein’s new feature film project Tulip Fever, a period drama set in the 1600s that tells the story of a married women who has an affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait. Hello! magazine reports that Bonas will play a merchant’s wife alongside Dame Judi Dench, Christopher Waltz and Glee’s Matthew Morrison.

Bonas, a dance school graduate, broke up with the fun-loving fourth-in-line to the throne after two years together. Some say it was due to Harry continuing a friendship with his previous ex, Chelsy Davy, while others suggest it was her desire for a career in the spotlight that forced her to call it quits.

''Acting, dancing and singing is something I have done my whole life. Being part of a creative team is the best thing in the world and I feel very happy within a creative environment,'' she told The Sunday Times recently.

However, rumours continue to swirl in British high society (and the tabloids) that Harry and Bonas will reunite and are merely ''taking a break'', similar to the time out William took from Kate before the couple reunited and tied the knot in 2011.

Meanwhile, after reportedly brushing the prince off after he cooked her dinner in an attempt to rekindle their relationship, Bonas is now forging ahead with her life in the limelight. The aspiring actress made her stage debut at the How The Light Gets In Festival of Philosophy and Music arts event in Wales at the weekend. ''Cressy'', as she is known to her good friends including Princess Beatrice, played the lead in a play called There’s a Monster in the Lake.

Tulip Fever, which will be directed by Justin Chadwick of The Other Boleyn Girl fame, will also star model and fellow British ''It'' girls Daisy Lowe and Cara Delevingne.

''It’s so clever, they’ve cast actual models like Cara and Daisy to play the artists’ models, and for the part of the society lady they’ve cast Prince Harry’s ex,'' a film industry source told The Standard.

Delevingne, one of the most in demand and popular high fashion models working today, shares Bonas’ passion for the theatrical arts and has just made her ‘'made for TV'’ debut in Britain playing a women who is engaged to a solider fighting the Taliban. The teaser for the telemovie, titled Timeless, has been widely panned by internet critics and fashion observers.
