Enter stage left: the ex-wife.
Erica Baxter, the former wife of James Packer and mother of his three children, made a surprise appearance at Sydney Airport on Thursday morning, just days after the casino billionaire starred in one of the more embarrassing episodes of his life: Sunday's street brawl with former best man David Gyngell.
But it wasn't her former husband she was quick to visit, but rather the Dover Heights home of the man caught up in last Sunday's scandalous punch up: Channel Nine boss and old friend David Gyngell.

On arrival Baxter was seen affectionately embracing Gyngell's wife, Channel Nine presenter Leila McKinnon, who is due to give birth to her second child any day now.
Baxter took her 18-month-old youngest child, Emmanuelle, along with her to visit the Gyngells.
Her former husband is in Melbourne and it is understood the pair will see each other on Friday.
Baxter arrived on a commercial flight early on Thursday morning. The former model and one-time aspiring pop star had a "near miss" at the airport with Packer's rumoured new girlfriend, former lingerie model turned purveyor of fine porcelain Miranda Kerr, who was boarding a flight to China, where she will attend a corporate event.
The women, who both hail from the same country NSW town, Gunnedah, missed each other by 20 minutes.
Upon arrival Baxter was driven straight to the $50 million Vaucluse mansion originally intended to be the Packer family abode, but which has largely sat empty for the past six months since Baxter's marriage to Packer imploded and she moved to Bel Air, California with the couple's children.
Baxter spent her first day in Sydney visiting friends, including her business partner Jonathan Pease in Redfern, where the pair have founded an online web development business called Tongue.
Baxter, 36, divorced the billionaire casino baron last year. She has barely been home since the split.
