Kate Winslet has married again, in a secret ceremony in New York.
"I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rock'nRoll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family," a spokesperson told The Daily Mail. "The couple had been engaged since the summer."
In fact, it was a ceremony so private that neither the bride or the groom's parents were aware it was taking place, reports The Sun.
“It’s not something I know of — but nothing would surprise me with those two,” said the groom's father.
The low key nature of the nuptials was offset by the presence of Leonardo DiCaprio who gave his 37-year-old Titanic co-star away.
Winslet's new husband is a colourful character.
He is the nephew of Sir Richard Branson, he works in space travel, for Virgin Galactic, and his name, of course, is Ned Rocknroll.
You read right.
Rocknroll, 34, who changed his name from Ned Abel Smith by deed poll, was formerly married to British society heiress, Eliza Cowdray. Their wedding took place on Branson's Necker Island in 2009. With the likes of Princess Beatrice attending, the ceremony made the front cover of Hello! magazine, who described it as the 'wildest wedding of the year' and 'ridiculously emotional'.
They separated last year after less than two years of marriage.
Within months, Winslet and Rocknroll reportedly met, also at Necker Island, where they were both holidaying; Winslet with her children and, then boyfriend, Louis Dowler.
In a Hollywood-worthy twist to the tale, Winslet was hailed a hero when a fire broke out on the island and she helped to save Branson's elderly mother, Eva.
"Many thanks to Kate Winslet for helping to carry my 90-year-old mum out of the main house to safety - she was wondering when a Director was going to shout CUT!," Branson said at the time.
From the ashes of the fire, the romance between Winslet and Rocknroll was seemingly sparked and soon The Sun was reporting that they were "madly in love" and already talking of marriage. Since then, Rocknroll has regularly flown around the world to be by Winslet's side and they made their red carpet debut at the 2012 Golden Globes.
It is the third marriage for Winslet, who split from "ordinary bloke" Jim Threapleton in 2001 after three years of marriage. The couple had a daughter, Mia Honey, now 12. Winslet then went on to marry American Beauty director, Sam Mendes in 2003. They had a son, Joe together seven months later, but split in 2010.
