For the tourists milling around The Star casino on Monday night as the NRL stars and their wives and girlfriends arrived for the code's night of nights many were unsure if they were about to witness an awards show or a mass wedding.

Terry Biviano, wife of retiring Roosters captain, Anthony Minichiello, lit up the night in a white hand stitched Pallas Couture laser cut lace gown, as did singer and NRL ambassador Jessica Mauboy in a white jacquard Steven Khalil cocktail dress complete with crystal embellished Christian Louboutin pumps.

Channel Nine sports reporter Erin Molan's white lace dress by Diane Lewis Couture was perfectly off set by her peaches and cream complexion and cascading blonde locks.

Even though she was carrying the wrong sized purse, former Home & Away star Jodi Anasta, wearing a pewter coloured pearl encrusted J'Aton gown, flew the flag for the metallic trend. As did Beau Ryan's wife Kara in a golden gown by Pallas.

"Sometimes you just say you like the dress just because, you know? But I actually really like this dress," The Footy Show star said of his wife's look.

The award for the hottest new couple of the night went to Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess and his partner Phoebe Hooke, who have managed to keep their budding romance under wraps for several months.

Hooke, wearing Givenchy heels and a floor length white Alex Perry gown with asymmetrical neckline she bought over the weekend, announced she will be relocating to Bath with her beau next year after quitting her job as a writer for Cleo and Dolly magazines.

Hooke is well versed in the ways of the football WAG having previously dated Western Force outside back Ed Stubbs.

Quote of the night went to Today show co-host and proud WAG, Lisa Wilkinson.

"If you can bag yourself a footballer, you're doing well," she said.
