Designer Ruth Tarvydas is planning to auction the show stopping red gown which Mrs Judd wore to the 2004 Brownlow Medal Count at the inaugural Perth Fashion Week finale, Fashion Hearts Gala Benefit.

Perth Fashion Week director Sylvia Giacci initially approached Tarvydas to participate in the auction but was shocked by her response.

"I asked Ruth if she would be able to donate a red dress to be auctioned off at the Fashion Hearts Gala Benefit which I thought would be from the latest collection. When I got the response that they would like to donate Rebecca Twigley's red dress, I was absolutely thrilled," Ms Giacci told WAtoday.com.au.

The backless scarlet frock which also boasts a plunging neckline and an array of baubles will go to the highest bidder at the black tie event where former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland will perform.

The $2000 dress was custom made for the then Perth-based model and speech pathology student who stole the limelight from her partner Chris Judd and overshadowed his first Brownlow Medal win.

The dress was originally auctioned to raise funds for a children's charity in late 2004 and reportedly sold for $23,000.

The winning bid was subsequently rejected and the dress has now been returned to Tarvydas.

All funds raised when the infamous dress goes under the hammer for the second time on April 23 will be donated to the Heart Foundation's Go Red for Women campaign.

Since sending the former Ms Twigley and now popular Myer fashion ambassador down the Brownlow red carpet, Tarvydas has continued to polarise critics with her risqué and glamourous designs.

In 2009 she dressed Australian cricketer Mitchell Johnson's partner Jessica Bratich in a see through canary yellow dress and matching underwear which sent the paparazzi and commentators into a spin when the unruly gown was caught by the wind.

Later that year she designed a sequined encrusted gown reminiscent of the Australian sunset and Sydney Opera House for Miss Universe Rachael Finch to wear at the competition final in Bahamas.

Tarvydas will present her Dark Angel collection at Perth Fashion Week on April 19. Front row tickets are on sale for $350.

Tickets for the Fashion Hearts Gala Benefit are available for $275.
