Zimmermann heads day two
It's day two of Australian Fashion Week and the first show is Aussie fashion stalwart Zimmermann. The label by sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann is best known for its swimwear but also does an ace knit.
The Zimmermann sisters act as mentors to a relative rookie designer, Michael Lo Sordo.
The show is out in a huge, stark furniture showroom in Rosebery.
The garments are achingly pretty like a sweet summer memory. Decidedly feminine, there are plenty of pastels and florals in the collection. There is also a lot of lace, many sheer pieces, little jumpsuits, skinny trousers and several swimsuits with embellishments.
A lot of pieces are holey with a certain punched-out pattern.
The bags exude cool: they are a dark and see-through, trimmed with white. It's a collection for beach bunnies or city women who would rather look sweet than sassy.
