The Allan Border Medal red carpet was fraught with fashion danger in Melbourne on Monday night.
Glenn McGrath’s wife, Sara, was thankful her scarlet column dress escaped unharmed after the family cat mistook her suitcase for a kitty litter tray as she packed for cricket's night of nights.

The WAGs of Australia's best cricketers showed their fashion cred (and flesh) on the red carpet of the 2013 Allan Border Medal in Melbourne.
“1 of the cats made a poo (several poos) in my suitcase, on the bright side she pooped in the 1 from the trip I came from not the 1 I’m going 2,” she tweeted before arriving in Melbourne from Sydney.
Australian captain Michael Clarke had trouble manoeuvring himself around his wife Kyly’s gown and its lengthy train.
Pup, dressed in a demure Tom Ford tux, was spotted several times stepping on and getting frustrated with the train of her winter white J’Aton Couture gown while an unfazed Kyly posed and pouted for the cameras.

Striking an uncanny resemblance to AFL WAG counterpart Rebecca Judd, Mrs Clarke assumed her role as queen of the cricket wives and girlfriends sorority with aplomb. Her futuristic gown with bandage-like bodice and mini peplum waist looked similar to the white, long-sleeved Toni Maticevski gown Mrs Judd wore to the 2012 Brownlow Medal count.
Clarke's sun-kissed skin, tousled hair and a bold coral lipstick stood out from the half-up, half-down curled 'dos and simple make-up many of the other partners showcased on the night.
Samantha Williams, partner of David Warner, appeared to have read the memo about white being all right for the red carpet. She looked comfortable in a simple yet skimpy Samantha Coughtrey column dress and looked right at home, even after her make-up artist told her earlier in the night that her “heads sits on a really weird angle.”
Lee Watson was worried she wouldn’t make the awards night with her husband, Shane. At eight months' pregnant, she had to be measured for her Johanna Johnson gown every week for the past five weeks. Watson accessorised her bump with a diamond harness and headpiece.
Rianna Ponting shone in a black and nude lattice-looking Steven Khalil number while Jessica Johnson, who gave birth to her first child six weeks ago, looked fresh and fit in a form-fitting, wet look Zhivago gown.
A standout style leader for the gents was James Pattinson, who bucked the 'simple tux and tie' trend and wore a jacket which was fashion forward but looked flammable.
Shane Warne and Liz Hurley were notably absent. This is the second year Hurley has missed the awards. In 2012 she was on set filming her cameo role for the hit TV show Gossip Girl; on Monday she was busy in London trying to locate her Audi which was reportedly stolen. To add to her bad luck her two dogs, Lucy and Raj, are in recovery after surviving a suspected poisoning attack.
These incidents follow her dramatic visit to Australia recently when she shoved and swore at a Perth reporter.
