Target partnered with iconic Italian design house, known for its colourful chevron prints, to deliver a highly anticipated range of fashion and homewares.

Many complained on social media as the department store's website crashed when the collection went on sale at 8am, as shoppers fought to secure their wish list from the affordable range.

Missoni fan Telitha Schroedl from Braddon was one of only about 10 people who visited the Canberra Centre store in person, and said she was surprised about how few turned up.

"When I rocked up there were about four other women, and that was at about ten to eight, and I expected there to be a really large crowd," she said.

"But it was funny because all the Target staff looked like they were prepared for this onslaught of stampeding shoppers, and the doors slowly opened and we ambled in."

She said that althoughshe was disappointed the whole range wasn't in store, she was impressed with the quality and happy with her haul.

"I came away with a really nice black and white throw blanket, a shirt for my husband, a wash bag for my husband, an umbrella for myself, and some melamine plates so that my toddler kids can use them," she said.

"It was all really civilised. I was kind of expecting it to get really dirty, because I've heard other people really fight for stuff. But it was all really orderly and the staff were super helpful."

Target has collaborated for a number of designer collections over the years, such as the Stella McCartney for Target fashion range in 2007, which saw stampedes of shoppers across the country and in-store fighting.

Many were still having trouble accessing Target's website on Wednesday afternoon, but those who got through said items from the range were still available.
