They sang as they watched and waited 'til their Billecart was delivered at the department store's Australiana showcase that was reminiscent of Banjo Paterson going through a boho phase.
Fashionable folk such as Kyly Clarke and celebrities including Sunrise's Samantha Armytage teetered down a hill to reach the waterfront home of Macquarie Group executive director Laurie Macri for the first part of Myer's new season premiere.
In the midst of its "Australia Lives Here" campaign and celebrating being apart of Australian families lives for 100 years, the retailer pulled together a selection of high-end looks by some of its best local designers for a lunchtime showcase.
Styles by brands new to the Myer fashion stable such as Anna Quan and We Are Kindred boasted dainty florals, short hemlines and dramatic sleeving. A trend favoured by Karen Brewster, the department store's executive general manager merchandise buying, for its easy elegance.
"An exaggerated sleeve is the easiest way to feel and look fashionable," Brewster said.
Mismatched shoes, flashes of fluro and disco-ready micro minis by Alex Perry gave the show some pizzazz in the same way Guy Pearce jazzed up Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
The spirit of Joan Lindsay was present thanks to some frilled and flared pieces by Acler, Kate Sylvester and Sass & Bide. Thankfully all models were accounted for at the close of the show.
Lace, shirt dresses and tuxedo silhouettes by The Kooples added some seasoning to the show, reminiscent of Sal Kerrigan spicing up Daryl's favourite chicken dish during The Castle.
Part two of the travelling new season showcase saw the young and hip head to Bronte's Surf Lifesaving Club for a night of sexy swimwear, streetwear and selfies.
Ambassador Jennifer Hawkins looked right at home girt by sea, a fitting backdrop for the model who has just moved into a multimillion-dollar Palm Beach mansion.
All eyes were on Australian-born, New York-based model Chantal Monaghan who strutted the catwalk, her latest sashay since walking in Jean Paul Gaultier's couture show in Paris in July. Monaghan didn't need a warm-up backstage though, having just jetted in from her Victoria's Secret show casting earlier this week.
