WHO KYRA PYBUS, 33

I AM in public relations and communications.

I AM WEARING a blazer from Marithe et Francois Girbaud from a boutique in South Yarra. This black top is from a Melbourne designer called Trimapee, which is closing its label down and starting a new one called Strateas.Carlucci. My white tank top is from Claud Maus. I found this skirt in the $5 bin at Cotton On and my shoes are by Elizabeth James. I bought them from Scanlan & Theodore. I found my necklace online at net-a-porter.com. It's by an Italian sculptor who sometimes does jewellery.

MY STYLE IS sentimental with hard-working pieces. If I see a young new designer who is doing something special, I will try to support them. I don't buy a lot of items of clothing, but special key pieces that need to work hard with other items.

I ADMIRE THE STYLE OF Karen Webster, former director of the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. She's an intelligent dresser who is well informed and whimsical.

MY FAVOURITE LABELS are Metal Couture, a Melbourne jeweller that has incredibly good craftsmanship and uses beautiful materials. I also like Alexander Wang, who has a refreshing concept each season.

MY FAVOURITE PLACE TO SHOP IS at independent retailers in Melbourne's laneways, like Alice Euphemia, Pieces of Eight and Marais in the Royal Arcade.

MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE WAS baggy jeans with a crop top and Doc Martens with a black mullet in the '90s.

WHEN I WAS A KID, I used to wear plastic bags as a bathing suit and run under the sprinkler.

I WOULD NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD IN anything with army prints. It's a bit aggressive-looking.
