The original Bachelor star Anna Heinrich was best on field inside the Longines enclosure in a terracotta Rebecca Vallance ensemble over a black slip and Viktoria Novak crown.

Influencer Nadia Fairfax is always one to watch. The blogger is the Lee Freedman of fashion – always winning. Saturday was no different when she pulled together a daring white ruffled dress by up-and-coming Australian designers macgraw and black felt headpiece by Winter.

On anyone else, this number would have looked like a leftover from that last Pirates of the Caribbean movie; on Fairfax it showed why Sydney is the fashion capital of Australia – brave, breezy and beautiful.

Fashions on the Field judges were even taking risks; two of the female winners were in dresses with hemlines of Jane Shrimpton proportions.

The excitement was short-lived though as major prizes went to others who were wearing black, and somewhat boring, headpieces.
