JOHANNA HARRIES AND WILLIAM KINSEL
TOBRUK SHEEP STATION, MAROOTA, NSW

The meeting
Johanna and William met on a Christian dating site after much persuasion from both their families. “Within 24 hours we had found each other, exchanged numbers and deleted our accounts!” says Johanna. “Five days later Billy drove 15 hours to meet me for the very first time and we haven't looked back since,” she says. “The basis of our relationship is that we are both passionate Christians. We can't believe how alike we are to each other. To meet someone who shares all your interests and ambitions is truly a once in a lifetime thing.”

The proposal
The proposal came while they were away with Billy’s family for New Year’s Eve on the Gold Coast. Billy asked if she would go on a surprise date with him. “I was very excited, but wasn't expecting a proposal!” says Johanna. They drove out to Kooralbyn Valley and enjoyed a picnic on the back of Billy’s ute. He said: "I have a surprise, close your eyes". When Johanna opened her eyes he was on one knee asking her to marry him. “I was so happy I could hardly answer!” she says.

The wedding day
They made the wedding a three-day affair as they had 80 guests, some of whom were travelling from overseas and interstate. They went for a relaxed, country style wedding – complete with cowboy boots for Johanna and her bridesmaids and cowboy hats for the men. After two days relaxing at Tobruk Sheep Station in Maroota, they held the ceremony on the Saturday afternoon.

The dress
Johanna wore an A-line, ivory silk organza gown with spaghetti straps. It featured a ruched bodice and a lace overlay on the skirt and a chapel train.

The cake
The cake had two tiers - fruit cake and Belgian mud cake (both gluten and dairy free). It was made by Vikki from Renaissance Cakes in Lisarow.

The photography
The photos were taken by Joe Barnaby Photography.

The honeymoon
They went to Sonaisali Island Resort in Fiji.
