ANDREW AND PHOEBE MACKENZIE
ST JOHN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, COOKS HILL AND WYNDHAM ESTATE, DALWOOD, HUNTER VALLEY NSW
Phoebe and Andrew had been friends for several years through their church. “Two summers ago we developed ‘eyes’ for each other,” says Andrew.
After nine months of official dating Andrew popped the question on their way to visit Phoebe’s parents in Tamworth. “A mate of mine helped set up a table, chairs, champagne and flowers on Hanging Rock, which is a lookout situated about 50 minutes outside of Tamworth,” says Andrew. “I proposed there,” he says.
The wedding day
They chose to go for a traditional style wedding in an old church for their 220 guests. Before moving on to the reception at Wyndham Estate they had cupcakes for afternoon tea. “The Emma Graves Trio did the music and got a lot of compliments from everyone,” says Andrew. “Also received a lot of compliments about having a string trio to play Pachelbel's Canon for the girls to walk down the aisle to.”
Phoebe wore a white strapless, crushed taffeta ball gown with a fitted, ruched bodice and a high waist. It featured a jewelled waistband and was a Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner design.
They had a variety of cupcakes in flavours of chocolate raspberry, lemon meringue and caramel. They were decorated with hand-crafted flowers and lace cases and came from The Iced Queens in Newcastle.

They went to Mauritius.
