HANNALISE AND JACOB PARIS
SAUMAREZ HOMESTEAD, ARMIDALE, NSW
Hannalise and Jacob met at Blackstump – a Christian music festival - on the last night. They were playing games with friends and trying to stay up all night. At about 2am the games died down and everyone was hanging out in groups. “I just so happened to pick the one Jacob was in,” says Hannalise. “We hung out, singing songs, I even managed to score a massage from him - this guy was a cool one to get to know.” They exchanged numbers in the morning and went their separate ways – he to Armidale and she to Wyong – but they kept in touch.
Jacob and Hannalise had spent a day rock-hopping at Dangar Falls with another friend when he first asked her out. On the day of the proposal, they returned to the same location. They sat at the edge of the waterfall admiring the view when Jacob asked her: “Do you want to share your life with me?” She replied with a yes and he got down on one knee and asked more formally if she would marry him. “Yes was obviously my answer,” says Hannalise.
The wedding day
The ceremony and reception were held at Saumarez Homestead in Armidale with 100 guests for the ceremony and 30 of their family members at the reception. They managed to pull the day together on a budget, with Hannalise sourcing her entire outfit online. “The actual wedding ceremony was beautiful - under a set of big trees, with the cool of the shadow and the warmth when in the sun, it was amazing,” says Hannalise.
Hannalise wore an A-line gown with vertical ruching on the bodice and criss-cross straps at the front.
The bouquets were made up of white roses, blue delphiniums, orange gerberas and purple lisianthus. They came from Rosemerin Florist in Armidale.
The photos were taken by James Day.
They went to Wyndham Treetops resort in Coffs Harbour.
