The meeting
Katrina had heard of "Dawson" many times before she'd met him. Her friends often spoke of him and they finally met while they were out one night at Cargo Bar. "There was an instant attraction between us," says Katrina. "By the time I arrived home that night, I received a late phone call from Dawson asking if he could see me again. It wasn't until the end of our first date that I found out his name was Chris and not Dawson, but I knew we'd be seeing much more of each other," says the 27 year-old. "Chris and I are best friends. We share an enthusiasm for life, travel and career ambition. We have a lot of laughs together yet we’re always encouraging each other to be a better person."

The proposal
Katrina had made plans to take Chris to Melbourne for his birthday. She booked a hotel in South Bank and made dinner reservations at Coda. But Chris had his own surprise - he was planning to propose at the top of Eureka Skydeck. "Unknowingly, I stole Chris' moment when I told him I had organised a surprise wine tour through the Yarra Valley for the following day," she says. So Chris waited until dinner that night and said she needed to come with him to an appointment the following week. "Having absolutely no idea what he was talking about, he nervously produced an appointment card for GP Israel Diamond merchants and began a beautiful speech about how he wanted us to spend the rest of our lives together," says Katrina. She burst into tears and eventually managed to say 'yes' and tell him how excited she was.

The wedding day
"It was a beautiful day from start to finish," says Katrina. They chose a theme of timeless elegance using black and white as a base and throwing in a touch of pink. They made their vows in front of 130 guests overlooking Sydney Harbour. "A highlight of the night was steeling Chris away to practice our bridal dance under the moonlight. We danced a slow rumba to Michal Buble’s The Way You Look Tonight before we partied the night away with our guests," she says.

The dress
Katrina wore a white silk Collette Dinnigan gown. It was a strapless empire line gown with three layers of silk on the skirt. It featured a Swarovski crystal detail on the waistband.

The cake
The cake had three tiers of chocolate and flourless orange cake. It was decorated with a metallic white pearl icing and a black floral design. It was made by Faye Cahill.

The photos were taken by GM Photographics.

The honeymoon
They went to Europe.
