        • I want Brett Ratten back.

When Ratts was coach the team, whatever their limitations, played with some pride. I don't remember being embarrassed by the on field effort of the players.

I don't agree with the master plan for Carlton to become the Collingwood B team. We have their former president, coach and some players.

Is this 'me too' adulation of our mortal enemy the best the current board can come up with?

Surely Carlton can do better than this.

              • let's face it, Malthouse was never that great. One good season at the Bulldogs out of seven, walked into a state side with West Coast and spent 10 years at the most resourced club in the country to finally nail one after being lucky to draw the previous week. Now with a list he himself declared was verging on a premiership at Carlton we will see his shortcomings. The Carlton board must resign now.

                • There were over 30 players from WA playing in other teams when Malthouse arrived at West Coast. Hardly a state side. They were in a shambles after Alexander and Todd. Todd win/loss 44.44%. Malthouse 66.61% and Judge after that 28.41%. He was clearly a standout coach at that time. His win/loss record is only beaten by one WCE coach who has a 100% record.

down in the last quarter continue to play the boundary line. Genius stuff!
Added to that a team that cannot kick , handball, or run and you have a real chance
                      of winning---- the wooden spoon!

                      • Really really Blue. The Bulldogs team he took to Finals was not rated and out did expectations. He took over a Collingwood team at a time the Pies were A basket case on and of field. He nearly won a Flag against an all time great team in the Lions. He built that team into a Premiership team. Collingwood still had to build the team using Draft picks and within salary cap rules. The wealth of a club has had little impact as a result although Free Agency now favours the wealthy and Mick never had that. The guy has Coached 3 Premiership teams he knows his stuff. It may well be many Carlton players are not up to playing as required. One thing I do know Carlton like maybe 15 other Clubs lacks depth to cover injury. Malthouse will win us a flag but not for a few years.

                          • Carlton need to return to traditional values to succeed. Get their bags of money ready, then raid the poorer clubs, take their best players and put them into Carlton jumpers and then win the flag. Hey it's worked 16 times before.
Long may the Carlton board jump for instant solutions, it doesn't work anymore ha ha ha. .

                                • just got back form the game - Ellard as key forward - 177cms(at least Ellard has a red hot crack) what a forward structure - on the rare occasions they actually go forward.
pathetic game style and soft at the ball - no more footy for me this year.

                                  • For all their high picks, their selections were never on leadership. Even CJ whilst an elite player, was not really a natural leader. Murph is an excellent player but not a leader.
They are great with the ball in hand but not without.
It appears a rebuild is required.

                                                    • It's always a great weekend of footy when Collingwood wins and carlton loses.

Malthouse owes carlton a lot more than he has given them. He took on the job stating that they had the list to take them to the finals. He has failed and should be sacked, the game has moved on so should he. However, selfishly I hope that carlton keep him on for the rebuild and waste more money.
