What an edition of AFL Express!
We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
There’s such a fine line between pleasure and pain in footy and Freo will know that more than any other team tonight.
If Mundy kicks his goal after the siren, they leapfrog Geelong into third spot and remain just one game outside the top two and a coveted home final first up in September.
But Mundy missed it, the Dockers are now two games adrift of the top two in fourth spot and their hopes of a home final in the first week are all but gone.
Hawthorn and Sydney won again today to remain in first and second spot respectively.
But while Port Adelaide lost to the Swans, and remain in fifth spot, Freo’s loss means the Power are just a game outside the top four and their chances of a double chance in the finals are still alive.
Gold Coast showed again how inept they are without Gary Ablett as they were thumped by 13th-placed Carlton at Etihad Stadium.
A win would have seen the Suns re-enter the top eight, but with so much to play for today it’s clear they are at least a year off being a genuine finals contender.
The Blues’ win was a huge free kick to Adelaide who will return to the top eight if they beat the lowly Brisbane Lions tomorrow.
And North Melbourne tightened their grip on a home final with a devastating second half against GWS that turned a four-point half-time lead into a 75-point victory.

Hawthorn have done it pretty easy in the first half and they enjoy a comfortable 39-point lead at the main break.
They kicked the first seven scores of the game (3.4) and held Melbourne scoreless for the first 23 minutes.
The Demons did hit back admirably to boot three of the next four goals and cut the deficit to just nine points early in the second term.
But Hawthorn responded in devastating fashion to slam home five majors in a row to take full control of the contest.
The Dees are trying their best to nullify Hawthorn, but the Hawks just have too much class and skill and it has overwhelmed their lowly opponents.
Alastair Clarkson’s men are on top in all the key areas.
