    Live: Tigers v Panthers

    Date

    'Sonny' Phil Mitchell

Full-time: The Tigers return to the winner's list (and the top eight) after three straight losses, while the Panthers slump to their fifth consecutive defeat. Thanks for joining me tonight. Until next time.

77 min: Chris Heighington! The veteran lock runs about 40m to score a cracker of an individual try and put the result beyond doubt after Marshall's conversion. Tigers 26-18.

75 min: Just over five minutes remaining and the Panthers have a tap restart on their 20m line.

70 min: Try-saving tackle by Woods on Panthers fullback Lachlan Coote on the last tackle.

64 min: Marshall has his kicking boots on this time and we have yet another lead change, Tigers 20-18.

63 min: First it was 6-all, then 10-all, now 18-all after a try by Ben Murdoch-Masila.

60 min: The Panthers recover from that disappointment to score the next try, by halfback Walsh, despite the hint of an obstruction by mid-season signing Shane Shackleton on Moltzen. Walsh converts. Panthers 18-14.

57 min: Massive play by Moltzen knocking the ball out of Luke Lewis's hands as he stretched out to score. Who knows, they may be teammates at the Tigers next season.

54 min: Longest period of the match without a try. I get the feeling that whoever scores next will go on and with this one.

51 min: Another great run by Jennings, in which he beat five defenders. Galloway back on for the Tigers.

49 min: Let-off for the Panthers as Tigers prop Aaron Woods loses possession at the play-the-ball inside Penrith's red zone.

44 min: Plenty of touches for Michael Jennings in this game, one of which almost yielded a try. Such a dangerous player when his mind's on the job.

Here's Adrian 'Sunday Sin Bin' Proszenko's take on the first 40 minutes: Plenty of action and drama here at Campbelltown. A late Tigers try - one of five-in a see-sawing half - has put the hosts in front. However, the lead has come at a cost. Gus Gould's favourite shaved bloodnut, Big Keith Galloway, has left the field with a shoulder problem. Penrith have caused the Tigers some other problems with a spirited showing. Who will win? Is Luke Lewis playing against the team he'll join? Will Big Keeeeeif be back? At least two of these questions will be answered in the next 40 minutes. Back to you at League HQ, Sonny Phil ...

40 min: Marshall is again off target with the boot but the Tigers take a 14-12 lead into half-time. This game is definitely anyone's but it may hinge on whether Galloway returns to the field. Already without Adam Blair and Gareth Ellis, the Tigers can ill afford to lose another big bopper.

39 min: Curtis Sironen puts a flying Chris Lawrence through a gap and the Tigers regain the lead, 14-12.

37 min: Keith Galloway leaving the field, 'carrying' a shoulder. Just what the Tigers didn't need.

30 min: Walsh's successful conversion puts the Panthers in front for the first time in the match, 12-10.

29 min: The tit-for-tat battle continues with a Josh Mansour try levelling the scores again, after Tim Moltzen spilled a bomb. 10-10

25 min: Tigers back in front, via a Liam Fulton try after a nice ball from Marshall. Marshall misses the kick. Tigers 10-6.

23 min: Tigers looking dangerous attacking the Panthers' line, only to be let down by a poor kick on the last.

13 min: Luke Walsh converts. 6-6. How often do you see hookers cross first for their respective teams?

11 min: Hold the phone, the Panthers are in after a superb individual try by skipper Kevin Kingston. Tigers 6-4 with the kick to come.

10 min: Panthers have camped themselves on the Tigers' line but so far the Tigers are holding firm.

6 min: Marshall makes no mistake with the simple conversion. Tigers 6-0.

5 min: A handful of tackles later, Robbie Farah burrows over from dummy half after a strong run by Benji Marshall that almost resulted a try. Tigers 4-0.

4 min: Tigers awarded the first penalty of the match and will take a tap 30m from the Panthers' line.

1 min: Referee Gavin Badger blows time on; Tigers kick off.

Good evening all, both teams have finalised their line-ups for this Super Saturday clash. For the Tigers, former Panther Matt Bell comes into the starting side to replace the suspended Adam Blair, and Joel Reddy joins the bench. Dayne Weston replaces Matt Robinson on the Panthers' bench. Join me in 10 minutes or so for kick-off.

Join 'Sonny' Phil Mitchell in the battle of the big cats in Sydney's wild west.

Greg Prichard writes: The latest battle of the big cats comes at a time when neither team is in the top eight. The Panthers, in second-last place, are out of the finals race. The Tigers have slipped to ninth off the back of three straight losses, and will be desperate to take an opportunity like this to right the ship. The Tigers get captain Robbie Farah back for this game, which is a huge plus.

AAP writes: This is just the sort of match-up the Tigers would have wished for to put their season back on track ... again. They have suffered three straight losses, which followed seven consecutive wins, which was preceded by five losses in a row. Penrith have lost four straight and disharmony in the ranks, evidenced by Luke Lewis’s request for a release, has fans wondering how bad things can get. Avoiding the spoon is all they have left to play for.

Key: Robbie Farah. The NSW No.9 returns from a concussion-enforced break alongside Gareth Ellis. Those two alone could prove too much for the Panthers.

TIGERS: Tim Moltzen, Matt Utai, Blake Ayshford, Chris Lawrence, Beau Ryan, Curtis Sironen, Benji Marshall, Aaron Woods, Robbie Farah (c, Keith Galloway, Matt Bell, Liam Fulton, Chris Heighington. Interchange: Junior Moors, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Ray Cashmere, Joel Reddy.

PANTHERS: Lachlan Coote, Josh Mansour, Michael Jennings, Brad Tighe, David Simmons, Travis Burns, Luke Walsh, Sam Mckendry, Kevin Kingston, Tim Grant, Nigel Plum, Cameron Ciraldo, Luke Lewis. Interchange: Shane Shackleton, Mitch Achurch, Ryan Simpkins, Dayne Weston
