    Full-time: Dogs 24 d Broncos 14.

79 min: While half the players are trying to break up a stink, Lachlan Maranta crosses for a consolation try. Parker converts. Dogs 24-14.

76 min: Pritchard finally scores, scooping up a loose ball that he stripped from Matt Gillett near the Broncos' line and plunging over. Hodkinson makes it four from four. Dogs 24-4.

74 min: Hodges knocks on in the play-the-ball. The Broncos need a miracle now.

71 min: Desperate Bulldogs defence prevents the Broncos from possibly bridging the gap to only four points.

66 min: Broncos hit back with a try to centre Jordan Kahu, who outleaps Bulldogs winger Sam Perrett after a Corey Norman bomb. No joy for the Broncos, though, with the conversion. Dogs 18-8.

65 min: Barba goes down injured but it seems it's only a cramp. What a relief that is for Canterbury and potentially Queensland.

62 min: Frank Pritchard goes awfully close to scoring for the third time tonight. Dogs finish the set well by forcing a line drop-out. Very controlled performance tonight from them in the wet.

59 min: Dogs back up the try with a solid set of six and a good kick that finds touch deep inside Broncos territory.

57 min: The Dogs open up a 14-point lead after a try to prop Aiden Tolman, who crashes over off a short pass from Michael Ennis. Hodkinson makes no mistake with the kick. Broncos are right under the pump now. Dogs 18-4.

55 min: Hodges loses the ball about 30m from his line. A Dogs try here could just about mean curtains for the Broncos tonight.

51 min: End-to-end action - first the Dogs almost score, then Matt Gillett snatches an intercept and the Broncos are peppering the Broncos' line. Meanwhile, the Tigers are on track to break their seven-match losing streak, leading the Cowboys 18-10.

46 min: Dogs off to a great start in the second half with Sam Kasiano charging over from close range for only his second NRL try. Hodkinson converts. Dogs 12-4.

The headlines are coming in thick and fast for our headline competition tonight. Here's a gem! Not sure whether T-Rex would see the funny side though.

41 min: Bulldogs kick off to get the second half under way.

Half-time: Dogs 6-4. This game truly is anyone's and will probably come down to a bit of Barba or Hodges brilliance. At Leichhardt Oval, the Tigers lead the Cowboys 12-10.

39 min: Barba is everywhere tonight, his best game this season. Great news for the Dogs and the Queensland Origin team.

37 min: The Bulldogs camp themselves in the Broncos' 20m area for five minutes but fail to come up with points. Terrific defence by the Broncos.

32 min: If at first you don't succeed ... Hoffman powers his way over after a beautifully worked second-man play. Corey Parker's conversion attempt is waved away. Dogs 6-4.

27 min: Line drop-out for the Broncos. As they say, the Dogs have come to play tonight. But a error a few tackles later lets the Broncos off the hook.

21 min: Barba's on fire tonight, saving his second try by pushing winger Josh Hoffman onto the sideline just before he muscled his way in the left corner.

21 min: Bulldogs defence is equal to the ask. They then receive back-to-back penalties to move upfield easily.

20 min: Penalty to the Broncos after Peter Wallace was taken out after hoisting a bomb. Tough call against the Broncos.

15 min: Knock on from the Broncos deep inside their own half. Another chance for the Bulldogs.

10 min: The Dogs draw first blood via a brilliant individual try to Ben Barba. Shades of 2012. Trent Hodkinson converts. Bulldogs 6-0.

7 min: Brilliant tackle by Ben Barba denies the Broncos a try, and the Bulldogs have the ball back.

6 min: First penalty of the evening, to the Broncos, who find touch about 40 metres from the Bulldogs' line.

5 min: Neither team has looked like scoring yet in a scrappy opening to the game.

1 min: We're away, Broncos kick off.

Players are on the field. Stand by for kick-off.

Good evening, welcome to our coverage as we bring you all the action from the Bulldogs-Broncos match. As expected, big T-Rex, aka Tony Williams, has been ruled out of the Bulldogs' team, so Josh Jackson will start and Tim Browne comes onto the bench.

Phil Mitchell writes: Just when it appeared Canterbury had put their campaign back on track with three successive wins, they produced their worst performance in a month and were duly whipped 44-8 by Newcastle last Sunday. The Bulldogs’ woes were then compounded when centre Krisnan Inu was suspended for the second time this season, for an ugly tackle on winger James McManus. Tim Lafai again replaces Inu, having done a fine job in his earlier five-match absence.

The Broncos handed the Titans their biggest loss of the season last weekend but continue to be dogged by bad luck, with David Stagg and Jack Reed joining an injured list that already included Ben Hannant and Scott Prince. But Justin Hodges is expected to return on Friday night, and his imposing presence could be the difference on Friday night.

    Phil's tip: Broncos by two
