That's it from Remondis Stadium. Thanks for joining us. We'll also be blogging Penrith-Canberra and Dragons-Rabbitohs so stay locked on smh.com.au.

    Take a bow

So the Sharks finally get their first win of 2014 on their fifth attempt. And they did it in some style.

"Obviously not good enough. We knew they would rock up today and we didn't match it." Warrior Dane Nielsen.

"Good to be back. It's been a tough four weeks on the sidelines. Good to come back and get a win." Cronulla's Jeff Robson.

The fulltime whistle blows just before Johnson takes the kick. It's successful, but it's otherwise been a dark day for the visitors. 37-6 is your final score.

With 60 seconds left Vatuvei and the Warriors finally get a consolation try, diving over in the corner following a sweeping move.

Looks like he'll fall just short, but still an impressive effort.

Dying minutes here. The Warriors will want to get straight to the airport and forget this game ever happened.

37-0 to the Sharks. What a difference a week makes.

What. A. Try. Nathan Stapleton take a bow, although Carney was the creator. The latter with the intercept 5m out from his own tryline, scampers well over halfway and finds Stapleton in support for his fourth of the afternoon. Nothing less than the Sharks deserved.

Carney rubs a little extra salt into the Warriors' wound with a cheeky field goal. 31-0 Sharks.

Probably a decent prediction, considering how unpredictable the comp has been this year for the tipsters.

Wade Graham tries a chip over the top, but it just bounces into touch in front of an unmarked Jonathan Wright. Let off for the Warriors.

And no try is the ruling. The Warriors continue to draw blanks. That was as close as they've come, so I guess that's something.

Manu Vatuvei crashes over after Thomas Leuluai's grubber. Doubts over the grounding so we're going upstairs.

The Warriors have a chance to get on the scoreboard courtesy of a penalty close to the Cronulla tryline.

Another telling stat - Cronulla have completed 83 per cent of their sets, with the Warriors at 56 per cent.

No less than 65 per cent possession for the Sharks underlines their dominance this afternoon.

Gordon can't convert the try, but it matters little. 30-0 Cronulla with more than 20mins left. Yes, you read that correctly.

Robson with the cross-field bomb and Stapleton times his leap to perfection, grabbing the ball so cleanly for his hattrick. Champagne football from the Sharkies.

This result will do wonders for Cronulla's for and against. They were a distant last with minus-76 before today.

Another tough one for the tipsters. Last week the Sharks couldn't score a point against Newcastle, this time they look like world beaters.

Gordon is successful with the conversion, putting the finishing touches on Cronulla's fifth try. 26-0.

This time it's Blake Ayshford getting on the end of another Cronulla move. This is getting embarrassing for the Warriors.

Somehow the visitors prevent another Cronulla try. Two kicks and some desperate cover stopped what looked a certain four-pointer.

Deja vu as the Warriors commit another penalty. More Sharks pressure. More poor Warriors play.

Gordon can't add the extras from 5m in, hitting the upright. But it is all Cronulla here, 20-0 after 47mins.

Simple as that - once again the Sharks race the ball back up field following yet another Warriors handling error. Carney does that familiar cut-out pass and Stapleton beats one to dive over. The Warriors are just about gone here.

Konrad Hurrell does really well for the Warriors, extinguishing another bomb and running the ball back into the field of play.

Carney with the cross field bomb as we pick up where we left off. The Warriors can't clean it up and it's the home side with more possession 10m out from the tryline.

The teams are heading out of the sheds for the second half. Elliott no doubt would have made his feelings clear as his Warriors try to get back into the game.

Cronulla totally dominated a one-sided first half. But for some poor finishing, they would be much further ahead than 16-0 as they try to break their winless start to 2014.

And Dane Nielsen with an appropriate ending to the first half, throwing a pass to no one and straight over the sideline. Dismal stuff from the Warriors who are lucky to only trail by 16.

But they can't take advantage, with an attempted off-load dived on by Isaac De Gois.

The Sharks are then pinned in goal as the Kiwis earn a repeat set. They need some points here to give them a boost heading into the break.

The visitors finally get some respite, with a penalty giving them possession inside the Cronulla half.

The Sharks are just slicing through some very poor Warriors defence, but again another try chance goes begging as they drop the ball 10m out.

The Sharks with a lovely set play but the final pass goes begging as the Warriors again get out of jail. One-way traffic barely describes the dominance of the home side through 34 minutes.

Shaun Johnson, who has barely been sighted so far, puts up a bomb but it's far too short and the Sharks regain possession.

Video ref having a look at another potential try, but it looks like Jeff Robson knocked it on in the build-up, and that's the ruling. Warriors barely holding on here.

It's a little fortunate for Gordon, whose conversion hits the inside of the left upright and bounces through. 16-0 Sharks, trouble for the Warriors. 28mins gone.

What a run by Sam Tagataese! Wouldn't be denied as he crashes through three attempted tackles to slam the ball down. Cronulla dominating here and it's already looking ugly for the Warriors. 14-0 kick to come.

And now it's a penalty to the Kiwi outfit who are trying desperately to get a foothold in this contest.

Glen Fisiiahi is very slow getting up for the Warriors. Just got his shoulder in the wrong position trying to lay a tackle.

He's having trouble when near the tryline, but Fifita is starting to make some good metres up the middle from deeper up the field.

Carney tries a tricky banana from 20m out, but Tomkins was alert to the danger and cleaned up for the Warriors. The visiting side really needs to lift here.

The Sharkies look well up for the challenge today. They put in a great chase to lock up Sam Tomkins close to his own tryline.

Gordon makes no mistake. What a start from the Sharks.

And it's a green light. Great start here from the home side, 8-0 with a kick to come from right in front.

Tinirau Arona crashes over as the weight of possession finally pays off for the Sharks. The referee called try but we're going upstairs.

Now it's the Warriors trying to force a pass and losing the ball. It's early days but Matthew Elliott already looks like a frustrated figure and his team then makes things worse by giving up yet another penalty.

Some more ill-discipline from the visitors, gifting the Sharks a penalty and another opportunity. But once again it's Fifita turning it over inside the opposition 10m.

Michael Gordon tries to add the extras, but his kick starts left of the upright and doesn't come back enough. Still, 4-0 Sharkies after 12 minutes.

It's the Sharks that get on the scoreboard first, Todd Carney with the beautiful cut-out pass to Nathan Stapleton, who dives over in the corner untouched.

Fifita has a sniff of the tryline, but he coughs up possession about 4m out and the Warriors get out of jail.

Wasted opportunity as Warrior Johnson throws a forward pass about 25m out.

Bit of a cagey start as the two teams feel each other out, but an early penalty gives the Sharks some field position.

And we are underway as the Sharks kickoff.

Halfback Jeff Robson makes a welcome return to the Cronulla side and will provide some help to Todd Carney. For the Warriors, Shaun Johnson will be looking for a big game following some indifferent recent form.

It's a perfect day for footy in the Shire and it looks like a reasonable crowd is building up.

There will be plenty of eyes on Andrew Fifita for the Sharks, following his controversial week. The visiting Warriors are slight favourites with the bookies to inflict more pain on the home team.

Welcome to today's game between the 16th-placed Sharks and the inconsistent Warriors, who are currently 12th on the ladder.

Michael Chammas writes: The Sharks should win this game at home, but you just never know given their start to the season and the Warriors' unpredictability. You'd think Andrew Fifita would be primed for a huge game after the week he has endured, although it may have the opposite effect. Home ground advantage is a huge factor but I'm tipping an upset.

    Tip: Warriors by 12

AAP writes: A newly re-signed coach who’s banned from coaching, a thumping loss to nil at an emotionally-charged Newcastle and a star prop who doesn’t know if he’s coming or going next year - just another wacky week in Sharks land. Stand-in coach Peter Sharp is one of life’s good guys and even he must be wondering what he’s done to deserve being handed the reins of a Cronulla side who are the only team in the NRL without a win. Kooky Warriors coach Matt Elliott has eased pressure on his position with back-to-back victories, but they look far from convincing - especially when star halfback Shaun Johnson is not at the top of his game.

Key: Halfback Jeff Robson could be in line for an earlier than expected return and will be a huge boost for the Sharks and takes the pressure off Todd Carney.

SHARKS: Michael Gordon, Nathan Stapleton, Blake Ayshford, Ricky Leutele, Jonathan Wright, Todd Carney, Daniel Holdsworth, Andrew Fifita, John Morris, Bryce Gibbs, Matt Prior, Wade Graham (capt), Chris Heighington. Interchange: Isaac De Gois, Tinirau Arona, Sam Tagataese, Siosaia Vave, Tupou Sopoaga (one to be omitted).

WARRIORS: Sam Tomkins, Glen Fisiiahi, Dane Nielsen, Konrad Hurrell, Manu Vatuvei, Chad Townsend, Shaun Johnson, Sam Rapira, Nathan Friend, Ben Matulino, Jayson Bukuya, Simon Mannering (capt), Sione Lousi.
