Live: Sea Eagles v Titans

Date

Phil Mitchell

Full-time: TITANS 26-14. Their five-match losing streak is over. Thanks for joining me tonight.

78 min: Lyon in for his second try of the night - yet another four-pointer from a kick. Lyon converts. TITANS 26-14.

77 min: Another two points to man of the match Prince. TITANS 26-8.

73 min: Gold Coast can't be beaten now after Prince slots a penalty goal. TITANS 24-8.

70 min: Steve Matai leaves the field with what appears to be a recurrence of his neck injury.

63 min: Manly goal-line dropout. Titans could just about secure victory with a try here, and they do just that as Gordon comes down with a Prince bomb. Prince converts to give the Titans a 14-point buffer. TITANS 22-8.

58 min: Manly continue to be their own worst enemy, spilling the ball while attacking the Titans' line. Geoff Toovey would be tearing his hair out ... if he had any.

52 min: TRY. David Mead scores in the corner, catching a fantastic crosskick from Prince, who has been outstanding tonight. TITANS 16-8. Prince misses the difficult kick.

45 min: Manly have lifted a gear. Crucial period in the match.

Referee blows the whistle for the second half - is there an upset on the cards?

Glad I'm not watching my Roosters - they're down 28-blot at half-time against the Cowboys. Ouch!

Half-time: TITANS 12-8.

36 min: Manly get a penalty nears the Titans' line but cough up the ball on the first tackle. Coach Geoff Toovey will be filthy with his troops at half-time. To make matters worse, soon after Jamie Buhrer is put on report for a lifting tackle.

33 min: Titans winger Kevin Gordon goes within a whisker of scoring an incredible try chasing a kick but video ref rules he didn't ground the ball.

32 min: Another Manly handling error give Titans a chance to extend their lead.

28 min: Speaking of Idris, Prince lays on a TRY for the No.3, who carries fullback Whare over the line with him. Prince adds the extras. TITANS 12-8.

23 min: Titans earn a repeat set after a Scott Prince kick forces a dropout. How big is Idris? He looks like he needs to lose about 10 kilograms of lard. By the way, whatever happened to the kids' TV show that big Jamal was going to host on the Gold Coast? Maybe it was sold in a package deal with the Titans Centre of Excellence.

19 min: Another Titan, Ashley Harrison, on report for a high tackle on Vic Mauro. Sea Eagles elect to take an easy shot at goal. MANLY 8-6.

15 min: Titans pinged for being offside, and Lyon capitalises, showing no ill effects from the Idris tackle to score. Lyon makes no mistake with the kick. 6-ALL.

14 min: Jamal Idris on report for a high tackle on Jamie Lyon.

13 min: 40-20 by Daly Cherry-Evans. Pressure back on the Titans.

10 min: HAIL Sezer! Titans five-eighth Aidan Sezer crosses on debut and Scott Prince converts. TITANS 6-0.

6 min: Another close call, this time at the other end of the field, as the video referee correctly rules rookie winger Jorge Taufua failed to ground the ball after a kick into the in-goal.

4 min: The evergreen Luke Bailey goes close to scoring for the Titans.

Good evening all, we have a host of changes to the listed teams. Brett Stewart and Kieran Foran are out again for Manly, replaced by Dean Whare and Liam Foran. Greg Bird is back from injury for the Titans and Beau Champion is a late withdrawal.

'Sonny' Phil Mitchell has the stamina of Paul Gallen with two live blogs in as many days. He wishes he had access to the red-button game to watch his beloved Chooks take on the Cowboys in balmy Darwin, but is stuck calling the defending premiers versus the PNG Wannabes.
