Live: Brumbies v Rebels

Fulltime: Brumbies 37, Rebels 6. Best performance of the year from the Brumbies. A great confidence booster before they head off to South Africa next week! Over 14,000 here to watch an entertaining game, particularly the first half.

76th min: Robbie Deans is an interested spectator tonight. Pat McCabe and Scott Fardy have done their Wallabies selection chances no harm tonight. Still 37-6 to the Brums.

67th min: After some sustained pressure on the Rebels line, Fardy barges over for his second try of the game. He now has as many meat pies tonight as Canberra Times rugby writer Chris Dutton. Lealiifano converts and it's now 37-6 to the Brumbies.

63rd min: Score is still 30-6. Pretty tepid second half in comparison to the first. With the result virtually assured the game's dying a slow death a bit.

Press box update #2: Chris 'Princess' Dutton has requested that the pies in the box come out at exactly the same temperature for every Brumbies game from now on.

50th min: Fotu Auelua comes off on his debut to loud cheering. What if his name was ever a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune? I'd definitely be buying a vowel

43rd min: The Rebels go on the attack to start the second half. but comes to nought after flanker Jarrod Saffy knocks on five metres out.

Press box update: Chris Dutton has given up on sitting on three plastic chairs on top of each other, and has now reverted to his traditional two. Massive news.

Halftime: Brumbies 30, Rebels 6. The Brums are dominating every facet of this game, and unless the Rebels get their act together they could set up some stumps on each end of the field because it could be a cricket score!

37th min: Bonus point try Brumbies! Lealiifano's inside pass finds McCabe, who offloads to skipper Ben Mowen who scores under the posts. Kick successful from Lealiifano. Now 30-6. This is turning into a rout! Is this the same Rebels team that beat the Blues just a fortnight ago?

36th min: Fardy! What a nice kick from the big fella. Boots it 20 metres in the corner near the Rebels line and Beale has no option but to take it into touch a metre out.

34th min: Brumbies no.8 Fotu Auelua is denied a try on debut after the TMO rules he knocked the ball on over the try line. That looks a questionable decision, boos emanating from the stands.

32nd min: The referee has had enough of the Rebels' repeated infringements and has sin binned their skipper Gareth Delve. Brumbies right on attack searching for their bonus point try.

27th min: Scott Fardy scores for the Brumbies after a superb downfield kick from Nic White gives them strong field position. Lealiifano misses his second straight kick for goal. Looks like he must have been watching the video of Jarrod Croker's kicking for the Raiders against the Warriors last week.

23rd min: The Brumbies turn down another opportunity to take a penalty goal and kick into it touch again! Met with rapturous applause from the Canberra Stadium faithful. Good stuff! They are rewarded again with a try to Michael Hooper from a rolling maul! Lealiifano misses the conversion so the score stays Brumbies 18, Rebels 6.

21st min: O'Connor kicks a penalty goal from 40m for the Rebels to reduce the Brumbies lead to 13-6. That kick should really enhance his 'brand'.

20th min: 13-3 to the Brumbies now.

18th min: Nick White lays on a beautifully timed pass to Pat McCabe, who splits the Rebels straight up the guts to score the first try of the game. Lealiifano converts from right in front. Reward there for playing positive, going for the try instead of settling for a penalty goal attempt.

16th min: Speight is taken in a high tackle by Beale and the Brumbies have opted to kick for touch and go on attack. Line-out 10 metres from the try line.

14th min: Danny Cipriani is about to line up a penalty goal for the Rebels, from FIFTY FOUR metres out. Hope he's had some of James O'Connor's Suisse vitamins today. Obviously he has, he gets the distance easily and the flags are up. Brumbies 6-3

13th min: Rebels star Kurtley Beale knocks the ball on 45 metres out from his own line. Brumbies go on attack again, but give away a penalty in possession.

10th min: Rebels are caught offside at the breakdown and Lealiifano lining up his second penalty goal attempt of the night. Successful from close range! Brumbies now lead 6-0

8th min: Brumbies forward Scott Fardy barges over the try-line, but the ref has sent it up to the TMO. The man in the booth comes back with bad news - held up, NO TRY! Still Brums 3-0

5th min: In his first touch in Super Rugby Brumbies centre Tevita Kuridrani swoops on a loose pass from the Rebels, runs downfield and is tackled 20m short of tryline. Brumbies spread to wide to Henry Speight on the right wing, who is bundled into touch.

2nd min: Brumbies get a long arm penalty 25 metres out, five metres to right of posts, for James O'Connor not rolling away. Christian Lealiifano makes no mistake with the kick! Brumbies 3-0

Preamble: We bring you live action from Canberra Stadium as the Brumbies aim to end their run of bad luck against the Rebels.
