Live: New Zealand v Ireland

New Zealand tear Ireland apart

80th min: The All Blacks are going backwards heare which makes it easier to find support players. Eventually Dan Carter is set free and sails towards the tryline, but there will be no more humiliation for Ireland as he is tackled and the cover comes across and boots the ball into touch.

78th min: TRY! Conrad Smith. Israel Dagg opened up Ireland's defence just as the heaven's open up and Eden Park is doused with rain. A few phases later Aaron Cruden holds up the pass and Smith crashes over. Conversion is successful. NEW ZEALAND 42 IRELAND 10.

76th min: Another penalty for the All Blacks as a supporter player is held back again. The Kiwi analyst is blowing up - Craig Dowd I think. "I hate cheating," he shouts. He mustn't like Richie McCaw playing either (only kidding!)

75th min: Injuries and a general lethargy has seen this game peter out. There's now uncontested scrums with Ireland down a front-rower.

72nd min: Ireland dominating play at the moment with a glut of possession, courtesy of a string of penalties.

70th min: No damage done as Ireland get a relieving penalty. Ronan O'Gara is on. This was the venue where he announced his international retirement after Ireland beat a team I won't mention in the pool stages of the World Cup. He clearly didn't mean it.

67th min: New Zealand are 12 metres out and opt for another scrum. New Zealand had knocked on and Kearney kicked through but the refs knows best and says no advantage. Ireland's scrum has been demolished by the All Blacks and Nigel Owens give the penalty. Some advantage.

65th min: Cruden's first pass puts Fergus McFadden through a huge hole and the Irish winger sprints 90 metres to touch down. But he looks upfield and Nigel Owen has his arm raised New Zealand's favour and offside is the call.

65th min: Aaron Cruden replaces Julian Savea. Sonny Bill to shift to the wing, Cruden at 10, Carter to inside-centre.

63rd min: A tight-head scrum win to New Zealand does not help Ireland's cause.

63rd min: New Zealand are running with purpose, crisp passes are hitting support players at speed. The latest movement breaks down as Israel Dagg attempts a near impossible pass. New Zealand will score more points tonight.

60th min: Successive penalties has Ireland on the attack. They are five metres out, Keith Earls cannot get outside his man and a knock-on ensues. Not Ireland's night.

57th min: Carter misses - for once. NEW ZEALAND 35 IRELAND 10.

56th min: TRY! Adam Thomson. Something had to give. Kieran Read picks up at the back and Aaron Smith's runs wide which leaves a nice little gap near the scrum for Thomson to run through.

55th min: More pressure for Ireland. Sonny Bill Williams's delicate grubber stops just in the field of play and Donaccha Ryan carries the ball over the tryline. Another five-metre scrum.

54th min: Ali Williams held up over the line after the All Blacks surge towards the tryline.

51st min: TMO time but this will be no try. Kieran Read regathers the re-start and flies for the line. Brian O'Driscoll, brilliant tackle and then dispossesses Read. Penalty for holding back Ben Smith.

50th min: TRY! Fergus McFadden. Dan Carter attempts to grubber the ball but it richochets of Rory Best's legs. Sexton sums up the situation and puts an excellent kick through and Richie McCaw cannot win the foot race against the flying winger. Sexton kicks the conversion. NEW ZEALAND 30 IRELAND 10.

49th min: The All Blacks are again dangerouns on the counter-attack. Julian Savea again is released down the flank. Sonny Bill almosts creates another try-scoring opportunity but eventually Ireland get penalty three metres out from their onw tryline. They fail to find touch.

46th min: Rob Kearney's header from a high ball contest nearly creates a try-scoring opportunity. The ball travelled 30 metres but Zac Guildford beat Jamie Heaslip to the ball.

45th min: Perfect Dan nails another conversion from the sideline. NEW ZEALAND 30 IRELAND 3.

44th min: And it is a hat-trick on debut for Julian Savea. TRY! The lead-up work by Conrad Smith, Kieran Read, Dan Carter and Israel Dagg from 40 metres out gives Savea the relatively easy job of scoring a five pointer. NEW ZEALAND 28 IRELAND 3.

43rd min: After about 10 phases with lots of inside runs, Ireland make no territory and a knock-on in contact eventuates and New Zealand have the scrum feed.

41st min: A mistake from Lord Richie McCaw from the re-start give Ireland field position and possession. Can Conor Murray get the ball in the scrum. Yes he does. Ireland on the attack.

Halftime recap: On the one hand the scoreboard reflects the brilliance of the All Blacks but does not give Ireland enough credit for the rugby they played. The key was Dan Carter. With Ireland on top, he landed two long-range penalty kicks to give New Zealand a 9-3 lead when they had no right to be in front. With the breathing space came freedom of movement and Israel Dagg, Sonny Bill Williams and Julian Savea did the rest. There is no way back for Ireland, just damage control.

40th min: What the Dagg giveth, the Dagg taketh away. All the All Blacks fullback had to do was draw the man and pass to Zac Guildford and New Zealand were in again. He passed too early and Ireland survive.

39th min: Carter can do no wrong. He lands it from the sideline. NEW ZEALAND 23 IRELAND 3.

37th min: It's TMO time but it looks like another try to Julian Savea. And TRY awarded. NEW ZEALAND 21 IRELAND 3. It was Israel Dagg who set it up. Dagg attracted defenders and then threw a flat pass to the flank and Savea had enough space to crash over.

34th min: Ireland muff it and a turnover results in Simon Zebo taking the ball over the touchline just one metre out from his tryline with Zac Guildford hot on his heels. Lineout throw to the All Blacks. Jonathan Sexton down injured.

33nd min: Penalty to Ireland. Will they go for three or kick for the corner. They should the latter as they will not win this on penalty goals. They choose the lineout. Good lads.

32nd min: Now Ireland are on the attack and it is another debutant winger Simon Zebo who nearly streaks away for a try, but the All Blacks last line of defence do the job - just. Ireland still on the attack.

29th min: And the All Blacks are into space again shortly after the re-start. Savea again busts them up on the the right flank this time.

26th min: TRY! Brilliant counterattack by New Zealand. Julian Savea scores. Zac Guildford dropped a kick but it went backwards - just. Quick hands to the left and Conrad Smith puts SBW into space. Another special offload by Sonny Bill and Dan Carter is into space. He draws the cover defence and gives it to Savea who strolls over. Conversion successful. NEW ZEALAND 16 IRELAND 3.

24th min: Incredible defence by Ireland. Sean O'Brien earns the turnover. The All Blacks threw everything at Ireland and they held on ad now win the line out on their own 22.

23rd min: The All Blacks are on a roll with Israel Dagg releasing Aaron Smith down the right flank. They are rolling through the phases and are now five metres out.

22nd min: There has not been a clean scrum yet as Conor Murray once again pinged for not putting the ball in when not asked. Rough call. Free kick to the All Blacks.

19th min: The All Blacks are more keen to run it this time from the re-start. Scoreboard relief has given them greater confidence because Ireland were on top for a good 10 minutes but trail by six.

17th min: The All Blacks not so keen to run it from the re-start as Carter hoofs it down field. Kearney catches it and is smashed by Julian Savea and the All Blacks pile over the ball and win the penalty. Carter to have a shot from the junction of the halfway line and the sideline. And he nails it. NEW ZEALAND 9 IRELAND 3.

16th min: And he nails it. NEW ZEALAND 6 IRELAND 3. Brilliant kick.

15th min: Back-to-back penalties as Sean O'Brien goes off his feet from the breakdown immediately after the lineout. It's 48 metres out, will Carter have shot? Yes he will.

14th min: Relief for the All Blacks as Jamie Heaslip gives away a penalty just 10 metres out from New Zealand's line.

12th min: A handling by SBW has Ireland on the attack again. Sonny Bill monstered by Cian Healy. Simon Zebo finally bundled into touch five metres out.

10th min: Now Kearny shrugs off Sonny Bill Williams. Ireland is up for this clash as Sexton finally kicks for territory.

9th min: Both teams are eager to keep the ball in hand. Ireland running it from thei onw 22 and a couple of nice touches by Rob Kearney have the Irish on the attack.

7th min: Jonathan Sexton makes no mistake. Roll your eyes at that one Ronan. NEW ZEALAND 3 IRELAND 3.

6th min: The All Blacks retain possession for the re-start and are playing the ball in hand from their own 22. Israel Dagg makes a halfbreak. There is a turnover and now a penalty to Ireland. Sean O'Brien nabbed the steal and then an All Black went off his feet at the breakdown.

5th min: Dan the man does the business. NEW ZEALAND 3 IRELAND 0.

4th min: All Blacks are on the attack but the first penalty of the game goes to New Zealand for hands in the ruck. Dan Carter lines up the kick.

3rd min: Strong tackle by Brian O'Driscoll on Julian Savea jolts the ball free. Scrum feed for Ireland 10 metres in their territory. But it is a free kick to the All Blacks.

2nd min: Jonathan Sexton punts it into touch. Not a massive touch finder with a line out 10 metres in New Zealand territory. It's the up-and-uner and Simon Zebo on debut is safe under the high ball.

Kick-off: Dan Carter does the honours. The ball is eventually re-gathered by the All Blacks before Kieran Read knocks on. Advatnage to Ireland, who show their hand by spreading it wide.

And now the All Blacks line up for the haka. Piri Weepu is leading the war dance. What a show of faith including him in the 22 by new coach Steve Hansen. His form for the Blues has been atrocious. Ma'a Nonu paid the price for the pitiful season of the Auckland franchise. The Waratahs, on the other hand, are rewarded with Wallabies' selection.

Will Martin is singing God Defend New Zealand. He looks a bit like Justin Bieber, which makes him James O'Connor's doppleganger. The crowd is joining in.

Pre-game: It's anthem time as two legends of the game, Brian O'Driscoll and Richie McCaw, lead their teams out.
