• Will you sell at auction or private sale?
  • Will you use an agent?
  • Do you want to get advice before you sign up with an agent?
  • Are there any renovations, a swimming pool, recent works that you need to tell your advisor about.
  • Have you received any notices by any authority, the occupier of adjoining land, etc that you need to tell your advisor about.
  • Are you an owner–builder? If you are, there is additional information that you will have to give the buyer.
  • Do you have a copy of your title?
  • Do you have all the rate certificates?
  • Who will do the conveyancing?
  • What settlement terms would you prefer – 60 days or 90 days (or another period)?
  • Is the insurance on the house still current? 
  • Is it necessary to complete any work on the house before contracts are exchanged?
  • If you have tenants in the house, will you sell subject to the tenancy or will you give them notice to leave?
