It was a dog's day out on Saturday as friends and canines from ACT Rescue and Foster converged on Dairy Farmers Hill at the National Arboretum Canberra.

Pin-up pooches were out in force for the launch of the 2015 calendar, one of the charity's biggest annual fundraisers, says president Wendy Parsons.
"We had all the dog stars and a lot of other doggy friends were there, so they gave a cheer and a woof," Ms Parsons said.
Calendar cover boy Felix, aged nearly one, is one of the lucky pups to be rehomed by the group. The clever pup was chosen for his unique way of communicating with his loving owner.
"When he came in we found that he was deaf, so his foster carer started teaching him sign language. His new owner took over and now that's how they converse."
Felix is one of nearly 2500 dogs who have been rehomed by ACT Foster and Rescue since they began in 2001.
