All work, no play: regulating our out-of-control overtime

November 23 was Go Home on Time Day. An initiative of think tank The Australia Institute, it aims to raise awareness of the considerable amount of overtime that employees work. According to one estimate, the average Australian employed on a full-time basis works 5.1 hours of unpaid overtime a week – cumulatively an astronomical $116 billion worth of "donated" time across the workforce each year.
