Teen escapes horror car crash

A 16-year-old boy escaped through the front windscreen of a crashed car moments before it burst into flames, killing four of his friends in a horror smash on the Gold Coast early on Saturday morning.

The two-car collision started from the safety lane of the Pacific Motorway after a car carrying Kody Williams, Tiana Williams, Allan Sullivan, Natasha Maggs, the mother of a baby girl and the survivor Thomas Bayer, whose family had been travelling in a separate car alongside the group of friends. When their Holden Statesman broke down just after midnight, the family went to get help and returned to discover the crash.

Described as ''extremely lucky'' by police, the teen was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries, including burnsand bruises.
