Toni Collette wins Emmy

21 Sep, 2009 12:12 PM
Toni Collette has won an Emmy Award for her role in the American TV series, United States of Tara, in which she plays a woman with multiple personalities

"Wow. This is insanely confronting,'' Collette said as she collected her award.

The Sydney-born actress has been nominated for an Emmy once before, in 2007 for the TV mini-series Tsunami: The Aftermath. That year the award went to another Australian, Judy Davis, for her role in The Starter Wife.

The 61st Emmy Awards are being held in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre.
