FM 104.7 is the No1 station in Canberra for the third consecutive ratings survey, but runner-up 666 ABC Canberra has picked up listeners across the time slots.
666 ABC Canberra breakfast presenter Ross Solly again dominated the important breakfast shift, the program increasing its market share by 3.8 percentage points to hold 24.1 per cent of the listening audience.
Solly's closest rival was 104.7's breakfast duo Scott ''Scotty'' Masters and Nigel ''Nige'' Johnson who also increased their share, by 2.3 percentage points to 18.1 per cent.
The breakfast slot on sister station MIX 106.3, hosted by Lisa Ridgley and Cam Sullings, was down 1.9 percentage points to stand at 15.6 per cent.
Radio ratings are taken in Canberra by The Nielsen Company only twice a year, the most recent from February 11 to March 21.Overall, 104.7 came out on top with a 20.5 per cent share of the market, up 3.1 percentage points on the last ratings taken between August 3 and August 30 last year. The FM station saw a five percentage point increase in listeners for its afternoon time slot hosted by Pat Griffin, to hold 24.3 per cent of the market from noon to 4pm.
Runner-up 666 ABC Canberra also picked up more listeners, sitting at 19 per cent of the total market, an increase of 1.6 percentage points.
Third-placed MIX 106.3 lost 1.3 percentage points of its market share, holding 16 per cent.
They were followed by JJJ on 8.8 per cent (down 2 percentage points), ABC Classic FM on 7.7 per cent (down 1.7), Radio National on 6.9 per cent (down 0.7), 2CA on 5.9 per cent (up 1.8), 2CC on 5.6 per cent (down 1) and News Radio on 4.1 per cent (up 0.7).
While only a small player, commercial station 2CA also increased its audience across the board.
Canberra FM Radio operates both FM 104.7 and MIX 106.3.
