Attack on Weston bike path

05 Nov, 2009 07:14 AM
A group of teenagers have bashed and robbed a 13-year-old and 14-year-old walking home in Weston.

ACT Policing said the pair were walking along a bicycle path near the Independent Learning Centre on Parkinson Street about 8.30pm on Tuesday when they were followed by a group of four or five.

One of the teenagers, believed to be about 17 or 18-years-old, set upon the two boys, punching them before stealing cash, a sports bag, clothing, a wallet, identification and a speaker.

The boys received minor injuries in the attack.

One of the attackers is described as Caucasian, with a tall frame. He was wearing a white singlet top with a large slogan on the front and was bald and cleanly shaven.

Thieves stole computers from MacKillop College in Wanniassa and the Wanniassa Hills Primary school yesterday.

An alarm was also activated at the Stromlo High School, but no robbery was reported.

ACT Policing said investigators believed the incidents were related. Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers via the website or 1800333000.
