AFTER back-to-back gigs in Canberra, having flown in from Los Angeles the week before, Wil Anderson admits the RSPCA open day is not exactly rock 'n' roll.
But the comedian and sometime RSPCA poster boy figured a way to spin it.
''I'll give it the Snoop [Dogg] treatment, yeah I'm down in Canberra, spent Saturday afternoon surrounded by bitches,'' he said.
''I was rolling with my dawgs. There was an awesome sausage sizzle for shizzle.''
The ACT RSPCA held its ''Bark in the Park'' open day yesterday, with Anderson on hand to judge some of the pet competitions.
Chief executive Michael Linke said more than 1000 people had stopped by the Weston shelter by lunchtime, and five cats had already been adopted. He said the day was partly about reminding people of the work the organisation does with rehoming pets.
''Micro-chipped, wormed, vaccinated all the hard work has been done for you,'' he said.
Mr Anderson is a self-confessed cat lover, because ''dogs are too easy'' to win over, but he and his partner are considering adopting one.
