Canberra will host a three-Test series between the Beijing Olympic Games bronze medal-winning Kookaburras and Belgium in February.
The series marks the return of international hockey to the Lyneham complex after a two-year absence.
The Kookaburras last played in Canberra against the Netherlands in January 2007.
The matches against Belgium, the world's No10-ranked side, will be played in the capital from February 5-8. They will follow a four-Test series against the Dutch from January 20-25 in Perth.
Kookaburras coach Ric Charlesworth named a squad mixed with youth and experience, including two debutants in Mark Paterson and Glenn Simpson.
George Bazeley, Ian Burcher, Matthew Butturini and Joel Carroll, all of whom will make their international debuts against the Netherlands in Perth, will also play against Belgium.
Two-time Olympians Grant Schubert and Liam DeYoung and Beijing medallist Eddie Ockenden, David Guest, Luke Doerner and Des Abbott will add experience to the squad.
Charlesworth said the Belgium series would allow him to further assess the Kookaburras prior to selecting a squad for November's Champions Trophy in April.
''These tournaments will allow me to assess some of the players first hand against quality opposition,'' Charlesworth said.
''With a number of key players retiring since the Beijing Olympics, there are several spots in the line up that need to be filled.
''This series will allow the players to put their hand up and show the team what they can do.''
The Belgium series will be followed by a men's development squad series against India in Brisbane from February 17-18.
Canberra player Daniel Hotchkis will play for the development squad for the second consecutive year.
The Champions Trophy will be held in Melbourne from November 28 to December 6. AAP
